Wonderful Weather (nice and brisk for Thailand), Wonderful Company, Wonderful Times. January has been nothing but fun this year. Graham MacDonald has made it back from Australia in one piece with Jay. I'm not saying that Ian Dickson went on a bit but sending me back an Aussie cap was just a bit more than I could take. Of course our home grown Australians are having a great time now ably supported by the newly arrived Brian (Bruce) John, Tai, and Ice Kennedy have sadly all gone back to work along with Dai Coe, but all the rest of the usual suspects are still here. Rich Wibrow, my Junior Assistant Deputy Trainee Manager Ian Harrington (Lady Di) who will be one of the Hares on the 29th January when the Pattaya Hash House Harriers have their AGM meeting, with the on-in at Jameson's. Lady Di would lose one of his titles if he could just learn to turn the TV’s over one at a time, as at the moment every time, Lady Di touches the remote controls you never know which channel will turn over. Philbrook's all are making everybody's life very pleasant Jim, Frances, Simon and the Lightley Deborah. Scud Paul has arrived along with Peter and Eddie the Grey. Scud brought across some new tapes of Gordon Ramsey's Nightmare Kitchens, very funny and will do the rounds of all of us that have still got the old fashioned video players. Saturday night was set alive by the arrival of Richard and Ali, who are here for a whole three weeks. Ray Matti and Curly Wurly, Stuart Daly, the arrival of Phill Dunn, all we need now is Lisa Lurve. Rick Bryant is yet again away, but we all took care of Harpic and Jake on Saturday even though Harpic forgot our pickled onions! |

Monday 15th January
sees a double celebration of Stuart and Moo Young's 10th Wedding
Anniversary, and Moo's Birthday, this should really be one of Jameson's
better nights. With Stuart at the moment scattering invitations
to all and Sundry. |

28 off have flown past again as we wave him off into the Artic circle
again and the land of the exceptionally cold beer. Ray Matti
has gone off to terrorize Bangkok for the week. Whilst with
good fortune and a following wind we should welcome back into the bosom of
Nova Table Rick Bryant for another weekend of merriment,
and pickle drinking. Simon and Debbie are in the throes of
moving from Nova Park to their own home, they will be greatly
missed as two jolly good friends right on our doorstep. Lots of good people
had been in and out the door. Loads of good solid Geordie
lads including the wonderful Sam Peebles, Chris and Darren
with wives Poppy and Jenny. Sam's sister was a riot looking
for her ultimate Black Russian. Peter, and Vince.

Dr. Iain Corness
after his fantastic racing exploits on Saturday, held Car
Club on Monday which always brings a good group
of racing experts to the bar. Did you see the fantastic program on Mr.
Nova himself Rony Fineman on TV. Great viewing and
shows just how far Pattaya Mail has come along in television
technique. Jason has been running around like a mad man.
Johnnie Live is well Johnnie Live. Jack
and Jin Levy are about. Lek and Dennis enjoy The
News of the World, and The Sun newspapers that are supplied in Jameson's
every Tuesday. Kimo and Nid have been over
cooking it as usual along with help from Lorenzo and his
brother Dino. John Fox of the infamous Q
Cars is well over the chicken Pox, whilst our god friend Terry
Schofield, has stuck to his new year resolutions of giving up smoking,
junk food, and beer (not alcohol but beer) as yet there is no sign of a new
T&A Golf Cup to be fought over this year. Enough from me enjoy the parties this week, see you at the bar, Kim, Rony, and Moo. |

Endurance racing is
quite different from the usual sprint racing seen in Thailand. This is much
more than the competition between the drivers, but more of a 'team effort'
than is seen with short distance racing. Dr. Iain Corness
