Kim Fletcher's famous weekly pub diaries at Jameson's started with the first publication Wednesday, January 26th, 2005.  Each Thursday night, local time, a new diary will be uploaded for your viewing pleasure.

Loads of rugby this coming weekend with a full fixture list this Saturday with a full programmed of Super 14's games and of course three Six Nations games, the last one Wales vs. France starting at 2.00 a.m. on Sunday night / Saturday. Jameson's will make sure there are plenty of Yorkshire Pudding Sandwich's to keep us all going. For a full list of all the sports events this weekend please look at our sports diary on this page. There is also a mountain of Premiership Football games as well. We can always find a way to keep everybody happy and switch over one of our 17 screens so it is all on at the same time, just watch getting those cricks in the neck trying to spin round and watch each game at the same time.
Lots of good folk in and around Nova this week. Dobsy breezed into the bar as bright eyed and bushy tailed as ever, which always extends the excitement levels. John Kennedy (J.K.) Tai and Ice came back for a weekend, and suddenly pool became very popular, another cunning ploy by the lads. Maybe we could have a pool competition, but then imagine how sad Johnnie Live would be to be knocked out in the first round unless we could rig it so he plays Smiley in the first round! The Quirke's arrived in force, and very nice it was to see them all to. Joe, Sheila, Shelley and the driving Quirke, Eoin. Eoin drove up to Bangkok to Captain the Pattaya Panthers in The Bangkok Ten's (well do the drinking bit on the Friday) picked up his parents on Saturday at the airport drove back down to Pattaya spent the evening in Jameson's, then got up on Sunday drove back to Bangkok and played rugby (or something like that not necessarily in that order! But he did keep the beer tokens with him all the time). Stuart Linus came back through the door for his annual visit on Sunday night bringing fresh supplies of Classic Rock Magazine and tinned Kippers. Speaking of which our trusted Jameson's Deputy, Trainee, Assistant, Junior Manager Ian Harrington (Lady Di) has been excelling himself this week, if you wish to have a story embellished, and spread across Pattaya Ian is your man. Giggles have abounded this week since last Tuesday when the delightful and generous Sid Silk popped into Friendship Supermarket to buy some shampoo. What he wanted was something with a bit a vitality, give your hair some bounce, put back that vigor it had before, and most important keep away those flea's. Yes our Sid had bought dog shampoo for himself so there have been plenty of call's of 'here boy', 'walkies' etc whilst the kinder amongst us, have just checked that he has got a wagging tail and a nice cold wet nose.

Did you all read the Bangkok Post on Saturday? There it was in the Quotes column, our Steve making comment on how he had signed up his new Irish sensation Doyle who is supposedly the best value transfer in the Premiership this year and lets face it there have been some pretty daft ones as well, but this one is a cracker with the boy knocking in goals like there is no tomorrow. So when Steve is asked how he came by the lad he says and I quote "well I went across to Ireland and after 5 pints of Guinness everything went a bit hazy and when I came to, he was sitting beside me on the plane going back to England" I'm sure this is true, but really Steve you could of come up with a better story. So the plan is next time Steve comes across to Thailand, we wedge him in the corner all with our contracts for huge amounts of money wedged in our hands behind our backs, ply Steve with a few Guinness and wait for the right moment and start slapping down our contracts, and we all fly back to England as Premiership players. Although as Landlord I may well take a coaching position so I can do it from the safety and warmth of Nova Table.

Funny old thing sport isn't it. I managed to drag out a few players to add to the Panthers ranks, a lovely chap Kieran, introducing him to our erstwhile Captain Eoin, Kieran turns around and like any new young player keen to impress the older and presumably wiser Captain says "and do not worry skipper I can play anywhere" to which Eoin replies "oh no you don't that's my position!".
The new Special of Steak and Mushroom Pie met with unanimous success, and the quick lunch service is 'slowly' catching on. I will re-print Mike Franklin's wonderful, letter about this new phenonimum so that you get the idea. But a complete three course lunch served in 45 minutes cannot be bad.

The amount of people around the bar is really too many to remember in one go (running out of time to do this week's diary as Moo is waiting right now to put it all together, so I don't suppose we will get another nine rating from John Hagan!) I did actually promise you a picture of the lovely Curly Wurly this week, but alas I will have to let you down as she is still cavorting around the Islands with Ray Matti this week. But instead of that how about this picture of Moo's new haircut? Does she not look the picture of beauty? Actually I do not know why we ever take pictures of a load of old fat men sitting round the table when we could just have pictures of all the pretty girls who come in the pub. Talking of which the lovely Helen Betteridge was in the pub on Saturday night. Helen has a system that she keeps all the slices of lemon from all her drinks in the one glass so that when she feels she has had enough she stops drinking, of course all the boys keep on stealing her slices of lemon so she never really knows!

Saturday was bachelor night with Simon Philbrook who had just recovered from dropping in on Thursday for a quick one and had to be led out the door then forgetting his take away food, and DVD's to watch during the eating (no secrets eh Simon). Debbie is away in England scattering their belongings far and wide before moving permanently to Thailand. Graham MacDonald was in with Jay away in Bangkok, so of course no girls around no rugby to watch, we just drank twice as much as normal. Terry Schofield of NORTH SHORE REAL ESTATE and not forgetting Roger Parry and his mum who came in for a lunch of Chilli con Carne. Roger always says I never mention him in the diary, but I think the reason for this is that perhaps he doesn't read it! The Bryant's were all in this week as Rick Bryant paid a fleeting visit to Pattaya so we had the pleasure of Rick, Harpic, Jake, Paige and Abby's company. Get those pickled onions in the bar Harpic.
Happy Birthday to Rich Wibrow last week although we seem to have celebrated on several days but not actually on his birthday, but fleets of B52's were seen flying over Jameson's with the Wibrow logo on them. It was a pleasure to meet Maira and Ivor who quickly settled in around Nova Table. Rony Fineman quickly flitted through the bar at one stage this week, you have to be quick if you want to catch Rony these days.
Dangerous Dave has established the corner of the bar as his own. Whilst Colin Duggan has reclaimed his title of champion of the bell causing several of the staff to be late for work on Tuesday. Mark Stubbs our mid-week genius pulled off another coup by knowing more about Rock 'n' Roll than Mott The Dog, where is the birthplace of Stewart Copeland Drummer with the 'Police' well obviously America not England. Keeping the bar alive have been, Welsh Graham, Graham, Joules, Alex and Nit Woods, Mike Franklin, Rob and Wit Dennis and Lek, Andrew Watts, the one and only (Thankfully) Malcolm Clare who left his usual trail of destruction last weekend, and has now returned up country to give us all a chance to recover, Steve Ponter, the wonderful Greg the new staff favorite, Woody, sad to see Richard and Maggie go, but we know you will be back soon. The Payne's Jason, Nui, and Leo. Iain Corness having the Wednesday Special within 45 minutes with John. Sam Peebles is as fun as ever just ask, Paul, Peter, or anybody else in the library with Sam. Nice to hear from Scud at Buckingham Palace no less, Lisa Lurve, and David Foden, funny though not a peep out of Ian Dickson.

grilled tomatoes and peas, all for 175 Baht.

THURSDAY: Kebab night with two long skewers holding a selection of chunks of beef, chicken, pork, kidneys, bacon, and liver, with green peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms and pineapple. Served with fried rice on a large wooden chopping board, all for 175 Baht.

FRIDAY: Fish and Chips with deep fried fillets of fish cooked in a beer batter, served with a mound of French fries and a heap of salad, all for 165 Baht.

JAMESON’S SPECIALS are served with a choice of two starters and two desserts (Except for the huge Kebabs on Thursday, as you are not likely to want anything else after you have cleared both skewers). All Specials are served from 12 noon to 11 pm and the same
