Kim Fletcher's famous weekly pub diaries at Jameson's started with the first publication Wednesday, January 26th, 2005.  Each Thursday night, local time, a new diary will be uploaded for your viewing pleasure.

Diary No. 104 Week of 15th January 2007 - 21st January 2007 Updated 25th January 2007

What a night Friday night was a veritable blur of activity. The British Chamber of Commerce held a Pub Networking night sponsored by Lee Hunter of Premier Oilfield Services, and a fine turn out we had too. Lee Hunter was ready with all his speeches, and Lee Hunter senior stayed in the background to ensure all went well. They were of course backed up by some beautiful staff from Premier Oilfield Services and of course The British Chamber of Commerce staff too. (As well as the Jameson's crew led by Moo and Wanchai naturally). The Pattaya Mail extensively covered the event which you can read about by buying the Pattaya Mail or looking up their website at www.pattayamail.com or even watching the whole event on T.V. The Pattaya Mail themselves were a jolly crowd with Peter and Prince Malhotra and Iain and Som Corness. Leading the field from the British Chamber of Commerce side were of course two of the pubs best friends Greg Watkins and Graham MacDonald. With just these few people it would of been a good night, but there were literally hundreds more.

Sam Peebles took over the whole of the library area and was still there when the Landlord crawled out (and he was blaming me!) Peter, Paul, Motor Bike Shaun, were all there with the rest of the gang. Kimo Price looked stunned by it all and left to come back on the morrow with support troops in the shape of Nid, Ian Harrington, (Lady Di) threatened to leave because it was too busy but then stayed all night. Malcolm Clare (The Root of All Evil) was obviously there in spirit. It was great to catch up with Gavin Broad, and John. Johnnie Live was busily talking about his new hair cut. Jimmy and Jenny Howard (well what party is complete without these guys). It's always sad to see nice people go and on Saturday we had it say goodbye to Richard and Ali, hopefully we will see you for longer next year. Brendan Richards, Computer Mark Stubbs, Jason Payne, spinning round in circles.

On Saturday there was an avid crowd in for the football led by Rich Wibrow, accompanied by Mosquito Bill, Eddie the Grey and Scud, Simon and the lovely Debbie added their usual sparkle to the evening. If only they had all been supporting Reading they would have had a fine old time. Saturday was a memorable day for the Reading Football Club Supporters Society Pattaya Divisions North and South as it was the first time any of us have actually seen Reading win on T.V. an extraordinary site first time I have seen Steve smile since he saw my golf shorts.
Monday is a big day for the Hash House Harriers Running club as it is The AGM Run which will be hared by Fini and our very own Lady Di. With the on-in after the run back at good old Jameson's. Now do not forget The Hash House Harriers is not a club exclusive club, all you do is turn up pays your money and off you go. It is not expensive and you do not have to run one step if you do not want to. And if you have never been before you might be in for a very pleasant surprise. See you at the bar, Kim.

Happy Birthday Paul Hartley

Hi Kim
How are you traveling?
Many thanks for the Jameson T shirt – very kind of you to send it down with Graham and Jay.
Really enjoyed the visit though must confess was disappointed with the cricket series – not competitive at all.
Serious English followers must be shattered, particularly after Adelaide result ( which is now rated as one of Australia’s greatest wins).
Almost bought the Ashes retention video for you – if was available 30 mins after the Perth result.
The fact I didn’t shows what a good friend I have been – I am sure you have already chewed through enough glasses in frustration and don’t need to see any reruns.

Hope business is well – still a small break before England start to under perform in Six Nations and will at least take your mind off the cricket.
With the departure of Pietersen and now Vaughan injured, there are some persistent rumours that Tony Grieg or any remaining members of the barmy army in Australia may get a call up? If Graham had not returned when he did, who knows what could have happened. Look on the bright side – the real Manchester tops the EPL; England had their first win of the Ashes tour and Reading look a good prospect to stay in the Premier League.

Pat and I are well – not much has changed except the quality of wines we are drinking has improved and the price has reduced. Quantity has remained constant from Jameson days ( but only because of drought conditions in Australia and a general shortage of drinking water). Great Xmas and New Year with family and friends.

Take care
Pat and Ian

Cheers, see you at the Bar.
