RUGBY FUN

Roll Up Roll Up. For this week's sporting entertainment. We have Australia vs. New Zealand on all the TV’s at Jameson's at 4.30 p.m. on Saturday 30th June. Should be an intriguing game as with the South Africans only sending half a side for the remainder of the tournament. Kim Fletcher the Landlord will be backing both Australia and to come away with the Tri-Nations Cup. Which under normal circumstances would hand the Cup to South Africa. But I think not this time. There is lots of other sports to watch on the telly's this week, Wimbledon, Sailing, and Cricket amongst them just look up the schedules on the website or in the bar for further notice.

Lots of happy people about last week Ray Matti who managed to win the man of the match tournament for the rugby game between the Pattaya Panthers (with some help from our friends oop North Bangkok. Ray got man of the match for doing a heroic job on the young lads from the University on Friday night which left them in no condition to play on Saturday, with the Panthers running out 32-6 victors. This was not an entirely surprising result after Ray's work on Friday night, and by the fact that the University boys Coach and mentor could not find the right pub to go in for the first three days of their trip. Anyway it was a good time had by all with Jimmy Howard and Eoin Quirke giving wonderful speeches at half time back at the pub after the game.

The infamous Blowfly fresh from his starring role in this month’s ultra trendy Hot Chilli Magazine. A brief return from Ken Sly flying in to watch a bit of rugby at Nova Table. The Landlord Kim Fletcher crying his eyes out because he is being spoken too by Simon Quigley or “Quigles” as he prefers to be known these days. Anyway a good time was had by all at Nova Table

The serious business of rugby starts up with noted in the crowd, Steve (Tubby) Turner, Gerry, The Font of all Knowledge Graham Macdonald, Simon Philbrook, Dave Davey, Rich Wibrow & J.K. talk about your usual suspects!!! Ken Sly & Big Dave Johnstone

Fortunately the television fell off the wall at exactly the same time as Simon Quigley “Quigles” was walking underneath fortunately for the rest of us Simon kindly volunteered to stay there all night holding the T.V. up so we could watch the end of the sailing

Ray Matti (President of the T.C.C.B’s) sits next to Eoin Quirke (Captain of the Pattaya Panthers) who happens to be sitting next to the delightful Jenni Howard, who in turn is sitting next to Jimmy Howard (The Pattaya Panthers, President and one of the world’s leading spoof champions)

Happy Birthday Scott, 20 years old, and the only way to celebrate is with a Jameson’s special the El Diabolo

The Bryant's are back up to a hoard again with the arrival of Carly and Aimee, adding onto Rick, Harpic, Jake, Paige, Abi, and all with the arrival of Daniel and Chris this weekend. Rick and Harpic are working away at promoting our next Sunday afternoon party on Sunday July 22. Where we will have Pop's Pattaya All Stars playing, Rick and Harpic will be doing another delightful musical spot, Dr. Magic will be two half hour spots. Lola will of course be leading the charge in the kiddies room (usually called the library) with painting games, cartoon's toys etc. And this time there will be a fancy dress competition for the kids with a first prize of a Banana Split one for everyday of the year. How about that for a Sunday.
Colin Powell is back with sidekick Alan after touring around Europe watching the Ian Hunter Band (heaps of jealousy from the Landlord)

Presentation time at Jameson’s after the Pattaya Panthers crushing victory over the University of Leicester’s team last Saturday, on stage presenting plaques and making all laugh at various times are Jimmy Howard, the world’s worst Scout Antoine, Quigles, & Eoin Quirke. Ray Matti was not able to be present due to a slight ankle sprain sustained leaving his chair too quickly at the ice bar

Mr. & Mrs. Davey after the victorious All Blacks had squeezed home

A brand new Panther is born

Simon Quigley (Quigles) comes a very poor second in a solo boat race against Welsh Whittaker from Leicester

A Quiter moment at Nova Table with Jameson’s Roving Ambassador & Computer expert Mark Stubbs, Ray Matti master of all his see’s. Landlord Kim Fletcher, & the Soothsayer Jason Payne

Looking forward to seeing Sid Silk back, and one hopes that Malcolm Clare (The Root of all Evil) has made a full recovery, and will be ready for the next Sunday afternoon party. My thanks to the crowd at the bar, Ian, Alan, Rob + Wit, Dennis + Lek, Graham & family, Joules, Mike Franklin, The Malhotra’s, Simon & Debbie, of course our Executive, Junior, Deputy, Assistant, Trainee Manager Ian Harrington. Good luck to Johny Live in his new exploits (how did he stay out of the pictures this week). The whole Jesters Committee led by Woody & Steve Ponter, Jon Fox the wonderful owner of Q Car, nice to have Lee Hunter back, Mike & Meaw Watkins, Eoin & Shelley Quirke & family, all the guys from Regents school, nice to hear from Lisa Lurve, David from the Royal Cliff & David Foden.
At one stage or another seen propping up the bar were Rony Fineman, Jason, Nui & Leo Payne, Ron, Weaw & James Keeley. And of course on this Sunday 1st July my old mucker the king of speed Iain Corness will be leading the following for the Grand Prix Formula One race at 7.00 p.m.
All in all a fun week, see you at the bar, Kim

The sports room well packed with New Zealand support

The Chastened, but glad to survive another day University of Leicester Rugby team

Landlord Kim Fletcher makes the stupid mistake of thinking that Steve Ball won’t hit anybody with glasses on

Harpic Bryant still cannot get over the shock of getting a birdie on a par 4 at Pattaya Country Club
