Park Lane and Mayfair are Dark Blue

What a sad evening Tuesday was as several of us sat round Nova Table discussing which colours various properties were on a Monopoly Board. Of course on an English Monopoly Board Mayfair and Park Lane are dark blue, definitely not purple never mind what anybody else says.

I nearly had to ring my Mum pretending I was on the Thai version of 'Who wants to be a Millionaire to check that I was right. This could be the third time I have been right this year Mayfair and Park Lane are dark blue, Reading F.C. to avoid relegation and New Zealand to win the Cricket World Cup, two of which are still obviously in the balance. But I got dark blue right.

Speaking of Steve Coppell, we heard through a reliable source that he has been offered the England job. But will almost definitely turn it down due to his lack of knowledge of rugby!
It has been a frantic week, and our dear Moo has been helping out on cashier duties during the day, so we will just have a short diary this week. Lots of fantastic people through the door, including Andy from Kilkenny, Bryant's all Rick, Harpic, Jake, Paige and Abby, Mike Watkins as always with the lovely Meow, and the Welsh hoards. Stephen Leather was in astonishingly fine form along worth Alistair Cummings, Nova Table managed to survive a whole week of Malcolm Clare the Root of All Evil, staying at the Nova Park whilst his house was being renovated. Simon and the lovely Debbie, all the Jesters Committee including a surprise visit from Helle, the fair and pub night seem to be coming together nicely so make sure to put those dates in your diary. Sid Silk the steel man had a marathon in Jameson's on Wednesday. Whilst we all wish Ken Sly the best in New Zealand. Fatboy arrived from Australia to do a bit of a hash run and then go up to Chang Mai to play cricket with Ray Matti and the boys, always good to see Jason, Nui, and Leo, Rich Wibrow. Lots of big soccer games this weekend and of course England vs. Ireland at Cricket. See you at the bar, Kim

Hi Kim
Somewhat silent after NZ’s flogging of England and the controversy of the Freddie Bender saga?
Not quite the image or commitment needed at this stage from a senior player.
Nice to see it is not only Australians who run off the rails.
Still, you managed a comfortable win at the weekend and with Ireland up next, who knows from there.

I watched Australia’s win over SA last night (replay) – small grounds and solid pitches will make for big scores.
Interesting match stats when less then a run a ball for batsmen is a failure and keeping bowlers to < 60 runs is economical.
Not too confident in Mcgrath, Watson, Symonds or Hogg too keep an end tight under pressure.
Very impressed with Tait and the problems he is creating for some top class batsmen.

Sri Lanka are a roughy at this stage for a finals birth but still see SA and Australia as the two to beat ( unless weather produces a shortened match somewhere along the lines). Take care

FRIDAY: Fish and Chips with deep fried fillets of fish cooked in a beer batter, served with a mound of French fries and a heap of salad, all for 165 Baht.
