Jameson's
Football Victory
Well done to everybody
who participated in the Football Game at Horseshoe Point last
weekend, the games was nominally between Jameson's and the British
Chamber of Commerce Team from Bangkok, but as some people played
for both sides over the course of the game, the emphasis was not on
serious. Special thanks must go to Rick Bryant, who
organized the pitch, refs, balls, posts, etc. Plus Rick
played a superb 15 minutes of cultured football. Brian Abbott
who made up the sides, did all the organizing Pattaya
end, captained the Jameson's side, played the full
60 minutes, and scored his penalty. Greg Watkin's for
organizing the Bangkok end, supplying one of the free
kegs of beer back at Jameson's after the game, and
generally made sure that the game carried on in the frame of mind it
was suppose to. There was only one really vicious tackle during the
whole game, and that was off the ball by Paul Dobbs
on David Dobbs, so after we had all stopped laughing
we all carried on with the game. A fitting result 1-1 at the end of
full time, and then penalties went nearly as long as extra time would
of done with the Pattaya team coming out on top 8-7.
We shall make sure we have another game next year when we have all recovered.
