The staff and I
cannot thank everybody who came in over this tough time regardless of
difficulty. I fact it became quite fun around the bar with people telling
stories of how they had got too and how they planned to get back home
from the bar, with lots of people chirping in with advice etc. The road
is now finished and in a much better state than it has ever been in,
and it feels quite grand to be able to drive from which ever direction
you want to Jameson’s and then leap out the car
and casually stroll into the big Jameson’s front
door. All is well that end’s well.
I have loads of thanks to make to special people who dug in (to the
trenches) over this time far to many to mention, all by name but here
is a few, of course my Executive, Junior, Assistant, Trainee,
Deputy Manager Ian “Lady Di” Harrington, The Jameson’s
Ambassador Mark Stubbs, who used to take over during the week
when the Fat Landlord had another nervous break down,
my good friend Graham MacDonald, Rick Bryant and the
rest of the Von Bryant Family for a marvellous party
on Christmas Eve with Pop's Pattaya All Stars and the
singing Von Bryant’s Harpic, Jake, Paige and Abbi.
Of course Rick did not sing himself this being way
beneath him as he either was, is going to be is, or could of been a
member of Status Quo. The Quirke’s and The Payne’s
who would of come to Jameson’s if a blizzard
was blowing as well as the road looking like a ploughed field after
a tornado. Steve Graham and all his associates for
a marvellous Christmas party just before Christmas.
Kimo and Nit from Wales, Mike Watkins, the boys at
the bar, Ian, Jimmy, Steve, Young Paul, Ashley, Ron Keeley
for getting here when there was smoke coming out of the computers. Terry
Schofield of No Fixed Abode, Simon and Debbie, all the many
Jesters who came in for a lunchtime drink, Partyboy
Ray Matti, and Curly Wurly, Neil and Pen Sandilands and their
huge family.
|
Sam Peebles
has been always a happy face in Jameson’s all
over the holiday period bringing hoards with him, Sam
is very well liked by both the night time and the daytime staff. Motorbike
Shaun is usually around along with Darren from the
Lazi Pig.
Of upcoming events the nearest one should be today! If you read the
diary on its day of issue Friday the 18th January,
if you don’t well it’s too late isn’t it? The
British Chamber of Commerce will be holding the first of the
2008 Networking Evening at Jameson’s which will be sponsored
by World of Wines, this is the company run by Richard
Waller a stout fellow and friend of many of us, whose company
also supplies the wines for Jameson’s which especially
the Rose' has been the downfall of many of my friends, Richard
Wibrow, Deborah Lightley, and Iris Ritchie to name but a few
whose last known conversation on many an occasion has been “Is
the Rose' to you liking?” and the answer has been “Too nice”.
But on Friday night Richard will be bringing from World
of Wines 6 different wines to try, and Jameson’s
will be supplying some fine Canapé to clear
the palate in-between wines. Richard Waller also happens
to be a very fine speaker (as witnessed at his marvellous address as
the Father of the Bride at Graham and Jay’s wedding).
So not only should it be a rather nice gathering as a sort of after
yearly festivities are over type of thing, and a good chance to get
back in contact with each other, but as a bonus there maybe an amusing
speech from Richard, I assure you to will not be long,
as confidently as I assure you it will be funny, the full details of
this event are printed up here on the diary.

As you can see around Jameson’s it was a bit like The War
of the Worlds this Christmas with diggers, cranes, machines that go
boom, and "glopperter glopperter". On Christmas Eve we actually
had 10 foot by 7 foot holes in the road that were 8 foot deep. There
was mud everywhere, and it was pretty tricky to even walk along the
road, but what blew us all away was that everybody made the effort and
somehow got to come and see us, at one point (well if you can call a
point Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day). There was only
one road to get to Jameson’s, and that was officially closed,
and wherever you came from there was a 20 yard forced march across the
rubble, trying not to fall down the drainage holes etc to get to us.
Plus of course we had to stop serving booze for the two weekends before
Christmas
|
Mr. and Mrs. Steve Graham, who really taught
Jameson’s a thing or two about how to throw a party, the ESC and
Nirvana people really threw themselves into having a good time, the band
was superb and the karaoke singing amazingly quite professional. Steve
himself of course was the consummate host, and his staff organized the
whole even quite superbly |

Father Christmas gets stuck trying to get down the Jameson’s
chimney, so if anybody did not get their expected Christmas presents
it may not have been initially because of your bad behaviour during
the year, but simply that the fat jolly fellah was stuck in our chimney.
Although it was probably because you were bad!

A.J gives us his impression (and I use these words lightly as you would
do if you live in the same town as A.J, have you seen the size of him?

The ESC party gets stuck into the Jameson’s Buffet

The Deputy, Executive, Junior, Trainee, Manager takes a picture of the
Fat Landlord

Alex the famous T.V personality is led up the garden path yet again,
and straight into a very impressive dance display

As you can see there were quite a lot of pictures taken at Steve's party

It really is only fair, ''Big man Big'' present A.J staggers away from
the gift line

Some of the fabulous entertainment at the ESC party

A.J in the thick of it as usual

Ahar there be pirates about with the treasure

A very Happy Mr. and Mrs. Claus
|

Steve Graham also does not mess about when it becomes time to buy
his staff Christmas presents

Steve Graham cleverly disguised as Father Christmas arrives at the party,
just to prove that it was not him that was stuck up the Jameson’s
chimney

Floor Captain Ake with a superstar

Nova Table, with Malcolm Clare "The Root of All Evil" as usual
in the middle of all the action, which always spells out action and
mania for everybody else

Jerry gives a lovely short speech for the cameras

Jason Payne as usual at Nova Table, as he is so skinny standing next
to the Landlord makes the Landlord looks fatter than ever

Well it is Christmas time, and in Tradition the Landlord and his wife
get stringed together again

As usual Kid gets in the picture with the girls

Mrs. Claus gives us a song

Even Steve gets a present

Steve Graham entertains the troops reminding us all of Robin Williams
in 'Good Morning Vietnam'

Goy, Fat Landlord Kim, and Colin Powell “The Mottman” get
into Christmas spirit, I’m afraid a little too literally. It has
bee a real pleasure having the Mottman staying at Nova Park, but also
extremely dangerous as Mottman and his famous sidekick Tattooed Alan
are always on hand for a “Quick” drink
|
The
mention of Iris and Tony Ritchie reminds me to wish them
both a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and let
them know that the Berroca’s were an absolute life
saver over the Christmas period. Thank you from the whole
of Nova Table.
Graham and Jay’s marriage got off to a wonderful
start with the most superb wedding, which was held at Silverlake,
this was done despite Graham’s choice of Ushers
and the presence of all his friends, there were hundreds of people there
so I cannot list them all but just to give you an idea of how dangerous
this wedding was I will mention a few fellow’s Simon Edmonds
(actually I could just stop there). Partyboy Ray Matti and Curly
Wurly, Richard and Maggie Waller (the Father of the Bride and the prettiest
Matron of Honour), Buster and Lek Williams, Rodney Bain, Lars and Nok
Fieste, The Quirkes, The Quigley’s, Simon Philbrook and Debbie Lightley
(top that for a wedding!), The Bryant’s, The Fletcher’s,
The Watkins’s (Graham and Ung and Mike and Meow), The Sandiland’s,
The Baker’s, The Paladeau’s, Pete Mewes, Alex Woods, Pete
and Ali, Pete and Julie, Roger and the beautiful Erinah Bath, Big Dez,
Richard Hunt, Pete Dalzell and his fiancé Lucy, Richard and Ali,
The Holt’s, Sister Joan and Woody, Pop’s Pattaya All Stars
put in a fantastic rock set, and all of this was done in the fantastic
amphitheatre of Silverlake in a lovely cool breezy day,
with Quad bikes available, (until we had them confiscated from us!) Horse
and buggy rides (the only horses in Asia to now fear
the soundtrack to Bonanza and Rawhide after being driven
by Ray Matti) and Tuk-Tuk rides all this with an open
bar run by the Jameson’s staff!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND
the whole day was brilliant, mind you I was glad the boat races in the
dark were abandoned before they really started. I’m sure we all
wish The MacDonald’s a long and happy life together.
The food at Graham’s wedding was superb and supplied
by Fredi of Bruno’s , which leads me to a proud
Father moment, as many of you know my son Geoffrey
has been working as a Chef at Jameson’s for the
past year, as of this morning Geoffrey has started as
a commis Chef at Bruno’s. Starting at the bottom
is always tough, but I have my fingers crossed.
|

Nova Table really began to rock over Christmas
with the whole gang battling the conditions to get in the door and get
up to the bar here we see Liverpool Frank, Lady Di, Fat Landlord, the
wonderful Dai Coe, who brought a whole new stash of bad jokes with him
for this Christmas visit, although his trip flew by so quickly he hardly
had time to tell any of them. And then we have J.K John Kennedy, the
man with a sense of humour like no other it would not be possible. Who
as it is a Leap year this year will be celebrating his 11th Birthday
this year

Although the roadwork’s outside Jameson’s
were an absolute menace to most they were absolutely fascinating for
little John Fletcher

Dai Coe is the only to realize that his
picture is being taken being used to the Landlord’s sneaky ways
but Geoff Evans carries on his conversation totally oblivious, but secure
in the knowledge that he has a hand around his Heineken

In the annual tallest man in the bar competition
Mottman comes second and Johny Live comes third

Happy New Year everybody

|

Johny Live Thailand’s most famous Hairdresser
(see the link at the side of this page) entertains at the bar

The best way of shutting up Colin Powell the
Mottman is to give him the latest addition of Classic Rock which was
kindly brought to us from jolly old England by Mike Brown

There is plenty of room on Tracy’s
lap for Nat to have a seat

The Landlord stands transfixed by the cricket
as Jimmy tells you by his laugh that it is all over and Stuart the builder
is really more interested in the more mainstream sports

Ian and the lovely Moo Young have a quick
cuddle while Stuart is not looking

Wonder Woman in her Christmas get up gets
ready with Chef Vinai’s Wonderful Christmas Carvery and Buffet

The Christmas Carvery and Buffet
|
In the New Year, Jameson’s
have many new things planned, starting off with a new specials menu
which we will be organizing once I stop typing! A new Nibbles
menu, and of course it’s unbelievable that the Jesters
Charity Drive is already roaring up at us, with the
Fair at Diana Driving Range and Resort on Sunday 13th September , and
the Party Night at Jameson’s on Saturday 20th September,
that may seem a long way away, but it is amazing how quickly it comes
around.
Thanks to Geoff Evans, The Brown family Bubbles, Ian Harrington,
The Cyclops Gus with the lovely Julia, Keith Mulholland and Elly and
Mick Devonport for keeping us entertained with magazines and
DVD’s. Thanks to Stephen Leather for the wonderful
new sign, a Christmas present at Nova Table.
Thanks also to John Hagan for
keeping score on the diaries, when there was a diary to score! Sid
Silk for all his boxing knowledge. And I must apologise to
all of you that wrote in about the lack of diary for a couple of weeks,
thanks for writing in at least I know that somebody is looking at it,
and I will make every effort not to let you down again this year, and
don’t forget if you need a car Foxy of Q Cars
is your man. Brian Abbot has again been appointed Captain
and Coach for the following season of Jameson’s
Football team the present holders of the Jameson’s
cup, and the only team in our league with a 100% record. Which
is rather more than I can say about young Steve’s
team at the moment, but I must admit the fixture list does always look
a bit bias as he only ever seems to have to play teams that are in the
top six in the league all the time and usually away, plus playing every
game with only ten men must be seen as a bit of a handicap!
Always good to have Jimmy and Jenny Howard in the bar.
Congratulations to Stuart and Moo Young on their 11th
Wedding Anniversary. I must add a very very big Thank you to
all my staff especially Moo, Wanchai, Bob, and Vinai,
for all their hard work and support of the holiday season.
Festive greetings to Scud, Liza Lurve, Niel and Alice, Sid Silk,
Peter ‘Gin and Tonic’ Woolston, the Dream Team, the McTighe’s
all, Pattaya Mail folk, Iain and Som Corness, Andy Francis, Paul Jackson,
The Rose’s, Jesters real and Honorary, Reading Football Club,
the Good Guys vs. the Bad Guys.
Regards to Ian and Pat Dickson, I bet Ian is enjoying
life in the cricket lane at the moment. Always good to see Jimmy
Mike, Rob and Wit, Denis and Lek, Joules, Chicken Nick, The Young Family,
Stuart, Moo, Sophie, & James, Khun Tira & Jinnie, Mike Franklin
and Family, Bouncer Geoff, and Boro Steve, Gavin from Flannigan’s,
Big Dave, Stan the man. Rony Fineman and Family have been very
regular customers, Jack and Jin who have a lovely present
coming in the up coming year. Great to see Mickey Price and
Family.
Have a good week everybody, and I’ll see you at the bar. Kim.

Believe it or not this was Nova Table at one
of it’s more sane moments during the Christmas period even with
the table being surrounded by Malcolm Clare the Root of All Evil, Partyboy
Ray Matti, Graham MacDonald The Font of All Knowledge (probably the
last picture of Graham as a single man!) and the lovely Maggie Waller
with Richard!

Simon Philbrook at his proudest, with his
lovely Fiance Debbie her sister and assorted beautiful girls, have you
ever seen such a ridiculas smirk on a face as Simon is wearing right
there

As soon as there are plenty of pretty girls
about Kid immediately want his picture taken with them. Simon of course
still stays centre stage to make sure there was no impropriety

Porn and Curly Wurly get all close up

Spot the odd one out? If anybody does not
say Stuart have another look

Birmingham Jimmy and family enjoy Christmas

Sam Peebles takes over the Sports room
for Christmas Day as usual, and what a great day it was too. Sam is
one of those people who when he organizes a party it stays partied if
you know what I mean. Sam and all his friends helped to make Christmas
Day 2007 a very special day for Jameson’s, Christmas Day would
not be the same without Sam Peebles or Santa Claus

When you have got Christmas party on your
hands, you had better have some good cashiers in place to keep everything
under control. As you can see at Jameson’s we have some not only
efficient cashiers but some dashed pretty ones too

It’s a very serious and red thing
at Christmas to make sure you have the most fun on the day. Two of the
prettiest girls in Jameson’s on Christmas Day

The amazing Geoff Evans and his Dad

The great Jameson’s Football debate
continues between Frank, Colin, Alan and a highly amused Geoff Evans

Howay the lads, now if you consider how
many photos of Colin and Alan there are in this week’s diary (I
know I can here you all saying now as you read this “Weekly”,
well I will admit we did get a bit overwhelmed over Christmas and New
Year so perhaps it has been “Weakly”, but we are back on
track now). All of them with different shirts on they can hardly claim
to not be regulars

Red is the only colour to wear on Christmas
Day

Little Nat gets her hands on some real
Christmas crackers

Bo announces her engagement to James Bond
(Peter on New Year’s Eve). Let me tell you that the Champagne
rolled that night

New Year’s Eve draws close in Jameson’s
as Ken and Jackie brace themselves to party

This is the last known picture of Graham MacDonald as a single man,
as he slips into Jameson’s for a settling large Gin and Tonic
before heading off kilt an all for the Wedding of the century at Silverlake
|

Here we are little Abbi Bryant in her Santa’s
helpers outfit, Mrs. Harpic Claus and in the background Simon Quigley,
with Simon’s hand thrown in for free and a giggling Eoin Quirke

One of the nicest things about the Christmas
period was the return of Peter and Bo

It is Christmas after all chaps and Mr.
and Mrs. Coe Dai and Porn look as happy as anybody has any right to
be

Stuart Daly and Partyboy Ray Matti look
as if they about to get in to an argument about Moo, but I’m sure
that wasn't the case. Although I am not saying Moo is not worth fighting
over

Stuart Daly claims victory, but Ray claims
Curly Wurly

Wanchai, and Mike Watkins share a drink
on Mike’s Birthday

Mosquito Bill Johnstone on Dave Green’s
Table in the thick of the action as usual on Christmas Day

The lovely lovely hard working Lola who
especially for Jameson’s did not have her expected baby until
after Christmas or New Year, and as I write this she still has not had
her baby. It of course will be newsflashes across the world as soon
as the great event takes place

Christmas madness continues

Patrick, Partyboy Ray Matti and believe
it or not that is a straight haired Curly Wurly beside Ray

Geoffrey Evans and his Dad. The greatest
thing about Geoff is that at least when he arrives we know to stock
up on the Heineken bottles, and in the knowledge that no matter how
many we buy it will all be drunk

The Welsh Christmas spirit in full sail
on Christmas Day

The actors Waldorf and Statler from the
Muppet show doing impersonations of Dai Coe and Bill Johnstone

Goy and Kim desperately struggle to open
their Christmas present from son Geoffrey

Once opened it was a lovely calendar of
the whole family. We thought about putting the calendar into production,
but then there would be all the publicity events, signing sessions etc
so instead we have had framed and put up at home

And it’s Happy Birthday
