LAST CALL FOR THE CHILDREN’S FAIR ON SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 9th

Mike Franklin

An action packed day awaits the Jesters Children’s fairgoers on Sunday September 9th at Diana Garden Resort, North Pattaya, with the focus being fun for the children and fun for the family. Over 80 stalls will offer so much too see and do, and so much to eat with Thai, Eastern and Western food of every description. Candy Floss is back again with 10 different flavours and two stalls this year.
The activities include plenty of new and exciting games and lots of prizes for the kids. There will be live bands, entertainers, a circus workshop, and clowns with brightly colored balloons. The climbing wall will be there, bouncy castle, a Taekwondo martial arts demonstration and Star-Photo will be covering the fairground to take and print family photos using the latest ‘wireless’ camera technology.
The famous Children’s Raffle has lots of great prizes with Wonder-Pooh bear and his pal Super-Ted supervising everything with the draw at 4.00 pm. Here are some of the prizes to be won:
Mountain bike, Yamaha Acoustic guitar, Color TV and DVD players, MP4 players, Canon printer/copier/scanner, R/C Helicopter and Race Car, Wireless microphone system, Dome tent, Casio electronic keyboard, an Index Crash helmet, a Jiehe Telescope, Tata Young signed Karaoke VCDs, Digital Video 1GB flash memory, a 10 Pc Tool set, kitchen appliances from Moulinex and Philips, a Scooter-car and more. We have hundreds of vouchers from Sizzler. Burger King, Dairy Queen, Pizza Company & Swensen’s to give away, and many signed T shirts and CDs from Tata Young.
Just before the Children’ Raffle draw at 4.00 pm, it is the special Kids Tug ‘O’ War, a real highlight of the day. Finally, we round off the day as the sun goes down with live music from Pop’s Pattaya All Stars and Annie’s Band, so there are many good reasons for Children and the Family to be there for the whole day.

Many of the under-privileged and needy children that we support, from the Fountain of Life, Ban Jing Jai Orphanage, the Blind School and Mercy Center, will be there having a wonderful day out and enjoying the Fair with us in the Jesters 10th Anniversary ‘Care for Kids’ Charity Drive year. These are some of the kids that we help, thanks to all our sponsors and the support from everyone coming to our two annual events, the Jesters Children’s Fair and six days later on Saturday 15th September at Jameson’s, the Jesters Party Night.
If you have not been to the Diana Garden Resort before, here is how to get to the Children’s Fair.

The evening of Saturday 15th September is our final fund-raiser and last chance to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of ‘Jesters ‘Care for Kids’. This is the night with something for everyone, combining the key sporting event of Wales and Australia battling it out in the Rugby World Cup with the chance to win motor bikes, airline tickets and vacations and much more in the Grand raffle, and make bids for exciting sports memorabilia, antiques and diamond rings.
If you happen to be a newcomer to Jameson’s, here is the location.

By supporting Jesters ‘Care for Kids’ you will be helping to care for kids that really need our help. As a reminder of the great Children’s Fair we had last year, tune in to PMTV this Friday 7th September to see a clip from the 2006 DVD feature.

SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE AT THE JESTERS SPORTING PARTY NIGHT

by Mike Franklin

A fabulous night is in store at Jameson’s Irish Pub on Saturday 15th September for the final fund-raising event of the Jesters 10th Anniversary ‘Care for Kids’ Charity Drive year.
Corporate and individual sponsorship has exceeded all previous years, the Jesters Children’s Fair is sold out and promises to be the best yet, and the Jesters Sporting Party Night is set to round off the 2007 Charity Drive in style. A party night with something for everyone.
With all the entertainment and sport on the weekly calendar it is important to cater for everybody on Party Night, in the same way that the Jesters ‘Care for Kids’ Charity Drive seeks to cover all of the needs of the underprivileged kids that we raise funds for. The money raised on Saturday 15th September will close the Charity Drive account for 2007 and, with your attendance and support, will result in a record total and a record benefit year for the Kids.
The Party Night kicks off in earnest at 6.30 pm with 90 minutes of entertainment fronted by Mike Gerrard to warm everybody up, Dale will rekindle fond memories of Elvis and star Bangkok DJs Paul Jackson & Andy Francis are on station to segue the opening entertainment set. Around 7.30 pm Erik Sorensen and trainer Robert Jonasson will interrupt proceedings by their arrival back from Trat after yet another successful marathon cycle ride and sponsorship exceeding 500,000 baht.
Meanwhile for New Zealand sports fans, a screen in a discreet corner will follow the traditional Maori haka and World Cup power rugby against Portugal from Lyon. Less discreet, however, will be multi-screen coverage of the Wales vs. Australia match from Cardiff. No handbags on the field, and no crash helmets or overt body armor for these guys – this is a powerhouse physical contact sport at its best with two mega-fit prime contending nations hammering it out in the early stages of the 2007 Rugby World Cup.
There is an opportunity to appreciate items of Welsh and Australian memorabilia up for auction later in the evening. On display throughout, bids will be accepted around 8.40 pm during the short half-time break. The top ‘lot’ being the 2005 Welsh Grand Slam jersey signed by that amazing team. And that will be the ideal moment to come on with the bar snacks - Welsh rarebit, Roo rolls and Outback pies. The spectacle continues until around 9.30 pm when the auctioneer’s gavel will work in earnest and silent bids received will be revealed. Lots also include memorabilia of Michael Schumacher, Sir Matt Busby, Arnold Palmer, and teams Manchester United, Liverpool and Everton. Plus antiques, diamond rings, children’s original drawings and other unique items.
The entertainment and music continues thereafter with sets from Rick & Harpic and Pop’s Pattaya All Stars with the Grand raffle scheduled just before 11 pm when the winners of the motor bikes, airline tickets and packages to Angkor Wat, River Kwai, Koh Samui and the Similan Islands will be drawn. Not forgetting vouchers to the top Pattaya restaurants including Bruno’s, Mata Hari, and the Manhattan Steakhouse
However, if Premier League football is your priority other discreet corners will cover Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Middlesbrough matches, to name just some.
This is a party night for everyone to enjoy and make it memorable wind down to a quite extraordinary Jesters 10th Anniversary year.

The Jesters 10th Anniversary Charity Drive Fair

Well from here on out it all starts happening, The Jesters 10th Anniversary Charity Fair is this weekend at the Diana Driving Range and Resort on Sunday 9th September starting at 10 a.m. As befitting the 10th Anniversary the fair will be the biggest and best ever thanks to all the hard work from the Jesters committee. It really is a special day, so remembering to wear a hat get up to the Diana Driving Range and Resort on Sunday and have a great day. On the main stage there is continuous action with bands, magic, etc, Rick Bryant has been leaping about as usual getting the stage and acts together at the same time. Some of the acts are actually being flown in so well worth watching out for, Paul Baker will be running the beer tent so all will be well there, Mike Franklin will of course be organizing his famous Children's raffles, but there are also hundreds of other stalls to entertain you all day long.

Of course as well as the fair next week we have the Party and Sports Night at Jameson's on Saturday 15th September, with more music from Mike Gerard, Dale and Rick and Harpic and Pop's Pattaya All Stars, with the auction (where you can start your bidding at the fair in the Silent Auction Books) and the raffle with the three motorbikes up for grabs. Of course by then the Rugby World Cup will be in full flow with the Wales Australia Game at 8 o’clock being one of the features of the night, as well as a full Premier League fixture list and two games from the first ever 20/20 Cricket World Cup, check out our fixture list on this page for this weeks event's. Reading Football Club of course are making the Pattaya Supporters Club sweat a bit this season, but what's life without a bit of excitement. (Although I don't know that we actually wanted this much excitement Steve). So at the moment it really is all go.
Have a good week, Kim.

Jameson's Roving Ambassador Mark Stubbs sits on the Blue beer side of Nova Table, whilst Landlord Kim holds up the green side

The football is on and whilst Rick, Simon and Dobsy all watch the screens Debbie gets on with what a pub is supposed to be about having a quiet slurp

Two masterminds at work Alan Bolton and Malcolm Bowden. Sitting in luxury in the library section of Jameson's

Nice to see a clean table Dave

Sid Silk and Ian Harrington

Everybody is always happy when the John Smith's girls are in the pub

Nova Table at Jameson's went up-market on Saturday with a great big slab of stilton cheese provided by Rick and Harpic (I can hear 'The Root of All Evil' seething with jealousy from here

When you take a break take a good break. Moo and friends gather in the sports room for a few swift ones

Ken and Jackie hold up the Scottish side of the table with their specialist subject being rock music on Saturday night

There was not much coffee drunk this Sunday morning

Always fun at the Jameson's bar

Dobsy has just realized what he has said about Newcastle United, but Sam is a very patient person

When you buy your tickets for the Jesters raffle the ticket stubs go straight into the box

Wild Bill freeman a study in concentration

Woody modeling this year Charity Drive T-Shirt

The return of Baker. Paul is somebody we are going to have to be nice to for the next couple of days, as he will be running the beer tent at the Jesters Fair at the Diana Driving Range and Resort on Sunday 9th September, starting at 10.00 p.m.

Paul Wilkinson of Four Winds, and Mark Stubbs of Foster Wheeler, grew up together going to the same school and generally hanging out when they were wee Nipper's, but neither realized that the other worked in Thailand until they met up round Nova Table on the Jesters Stallholders meeting on Monday night. Funny small world isn't it both of them have been here for years not realizing the other was here. Yet again Jameson's works as Thailand friends reunited

The New Jameson's bat sign in the sky, the new Jameson's sign put on the top of Nova Park by Rony can now be seen from all over Pattaya, first night nerves made the top of the 'A' blow up. But Jameson's can truly be called a Landmark now. I'm just a bit worried about planes landing in the car park

Simon and Dobsy help hold up Nova Table which has been heavily weighed down this weekend with a few thirsty souls making sure they get their correct quota

The weekend has arrived and we are off Jason doing his Coco the Clown hand wave whilst Johnnie Fox shows off the latest in Q Car fashions, Terry Schofield proudly shows of his new clean looking chin, well you can change your looks when you want when you are of 'No Fixed Abode' Ian (Lady Di) Harrington can be seen doing his duties as the Executive, Junior, Deputy, Trainee, Apprentice, Assistant Manager, and the Fat Landlord ginning as ever

Gavin's mob circle round the tables

Gavin and Peter discus furniture and fittings

Jason yet again flys onto Nova Table to join Dave, and Jon Fox

Jon Fox of Q cars always the charmer

The lovely Harpic and Wanchai it is better to stand further away from the camera, a lot further!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Boys are back in town with Sam, Vince and Jimmy leading the way on Nova Table

John Bell who is the new Landlord of the new Jameson's to open in Silom Road in Bangkok in November tries out the Landlord's chair at Nova Table as England take another hammering at cricket. I will be putting more up on the new Jameson's in future weeks, sitting with John are Kim, Vince and Simon

The Quirkes tuck into Sunday lunch

Dave is extremely happy with his Carvery

The stall holders for the Jesters Fair find out all their information from Kevin Mitch. Always worth a glance at the map of the fair when you are in the pub, at the very least so you can find out where the beer tent is

Dobsy and friend
