Brian Abbott the Jameson's Football Captain has now been elevated to superstar status after the glorious victory against Greg Watkins B.C.C.T. Football team last week. Brian achieved a wonderful 5-0 victory over the B.C.C.T. with a depleted team as the mighty Sam Peebles had been recalled to do some work, whilst the dynamic strike force of Jimmy Howard and Kim Fletcher had been broken up, as The Landlord had a note from his Mum saying he had a bit of a cold on his chest. But even with these draw backs. The Abbott managed his troops magnificently to avoid another Penalty shoot out drama, and the Jameson's team scored 5 goals in the last ten minutes to secure victory. I have been trying to get more details of the game, but every time ask any questions, Rick Bryant (He of the Von Ryan Singing Family) burst's forward with this very long and convoluted story about the 4th goal. Which if Rick is to be believed started when Rick go the ball in our own Jameson's Penalty area, and then Rick burst forward up field dodging tackles from all eleven of the B.C.C.T players (some of them twice). Then after a quick one-two with Ko of Horseshoe Point. Rick then kicked the ball with the power of a Thunder bolt, as it smashed into the back of the B.C.C.T. goal, which the goalkeeper did not even see although he knew it was coming, and the goal netting had to be replaced. Now believe me that is the short version of the story anybody who would like the long version please pop into Jameson's and hunt out Rick who will be delighted to regale you with the full 2 and 1/2 hour version. Rick is easy to spy these days in Jameson's. His beautiful wife will be sitting next to him, Harpic, with cotton wool stuffed in his ears.

Great to see everybody come back after the game, especially Roger Mart who brought us a great big bag full of books, for the Used Book Stall which will be run by Judi McNamara at the Jesters Care4Kids Charity Drive 2008 to be held just a mere four weeks away at the Diana Driving Range and Resort on Sunday 14th September starting at 10.00 a.m. One of the best days out of the year. If any of you have books at home that you no longer need please bring them into Jameson's so Judi can get them sorted out before the big day. The Used Book Stall is a great way of making money for charity. You give us the books, we sort them out and sell them, in some cases sell them back to the people that donated them (stand up Bob 'Scar' Taylor), and then we give the money to Fair Organizer Kevin Mitch who then gives the money to The Care4Kids Charity Drive. But the book stall is one of many fantastic stalls at The Fair, so write that date down in your diary. Of course the following week at good old Jameson's we have The Jesters Care4Kids Party Night on Saturday 20th September with magic shows, Pattaya's very own Frank Sinatra, Rick and Harpic (Rick no doubt still going on about that goal). Pop's Pattaya All Stars, the conclusion of the Grand Raffle and plenty more with compeering by Andy Francis and Paul Jackson. Not forgetting the Grand Auction. We now have over 70 items in our Auction which can be seen by clicking onto the link at the side of the page here (as can the two Care4Kids sites). Now not all of these items will be actually auctioned on the night (obviously). So get your bids in now, and you maybe able to pick up a bargain, and help the kids at the same time. "It's just a click away". There are bids coming in every day now and more and more Auction items going up. Good old Ron Keeley is rushed off his feet, keeping it up to date. The 20 years of Jools poster is obviously very dear to my heart and we can see every day as the bids come in for that. Thanks to Matt and Rung of Jools.

Great things happen if you sit in Jameson's never a night goes past without somebody hitting the headlines, and giving us all something to gossip about. Paul and Keaw's wedding day gets ever closer, Ray of the Youth Policy and Young Steve have disappeared, but we await their return, the wonderful Geoff Evans has returned full of Bonhomie and Heineken, and it was great chatting to Terry Schofield of No Fixed Abode. Ian (Lady Di) Harrington had a good weekend in the bar.
Happy Birthdays go out to Jo Powis and Geoffrey Fletcher. We will not be saying anything about Steve and the boys game of football this week.
Mind you on the sports front Steve's boys did take a hint from the Jameson's F.C. by scoring five goals mid-week. Plenty of World of Wine wines were drunk this weekend, always good to see the Panthers well represented in the bar including Eoin and Shelley Quirke, Ralph, Jimmy Howard, My Jimmy, what's left of the Youth Policy Derek, Derek, and Paul, Geoffrey my Cricket buddy, Jason Nui, and Leo Payne, Stuart and Moo, Graham MacDonald (The Font of All Knowledge). Terry of No Fixed Abode, Steve Graham, The Jesters Care4Kids Charity Drive Committee Woody, Linden, Tony Malhotra, Wild Bill, Ingrid, Simon and Debbie.
