Care4Kids Charity Drive Fair 2008
Yes folks
this Sunday 14th September at 10.00n a.m. at the Diana
Driving Range and Resort, the 10th Annual Jesters
Charity Care4Kids Fair will be on again. Bigger better
and more fun than ever. Please look at the map of the
Fair to see all the different stalls we have this year,
over a hundred. Hat's off to Kevin Mitch, his
right hand man Wild Bill, and their team of
miracle workers for putting it all together. The Diana
Driving Range them selves for allowing us to use the
site, and the work they put in. Woody and the Committee
for all their hard work, all the actual stall holders. It really
is a day not to be missed least of all. Because of the wonderful
Jameson's stalls we have one stall showing
off our Grand Raffle prizes, one stall with
the Auction items for the Party Night
on Saturday 20th September at good old Jameson's,
you will be able to make bids at the Fair with
Debbie Lightley taking care of that, you can
of course also make bids for your favorite items on the
Charity Auction right now or just have a look by clicking
on the link at the side of this page, also delightfully grouped
in with us will be the British Legion tent
run by my mate Bert of Tropical Bert's, Johny LiveThailand's most famous
hairdresser will also be with us, and of course Judi
McNamara and her hard working crew with the
Used Book Stall. Now this is your last chance everybody,
we need your old books to sell on our stall, have a look round
your shelves and see if there are any books you have left on
those shelves that you no longer need then please bring them
into Jameson's where Judi
can sort them out and then sell them on the day. It's a great
way of making money for the kids, as you give us the books we
sell them and then all the proceeds go to the kids. No expense
total profit for the Jesters Care4Kids Charity Drive.
So come on have a look around and see if you can find any books
for us and bring them into Jameson's.
A new innovation this
year at the Fair will be Pop's Cool
Zone a wonderful idea by The Von Bryant Family,
and Pop's Pattaya All Stars, (both The
Bryant's and Pop's Pattaya All Stars have been with
us at all the Party Nights, Fairs , since the
Jesters Care4Kids Charity Drive started with it's first
Party Night in 1997. I have no idea what we
would do without them) having a marquee just beside and behind
the main stage. Pop, and all his All
Stars, plus many friends will be on hand to show kids
the basic rudiments of learning musical instruments, there will
be ten Cool Zone fans (naturally), T-Shirts,
Acoustic sets of music from a variety of talented musicians,
and to the Landlord's relief the most wonderful
news that in charge of the Jesters Beer Bar
(remember that all the money from the sales of the beer goes
directly to charity is all donated, so the more you drink the
more money goes to the Care4Kids Charity Drive,
what more of an excuse do you want?). Well I will tell you what
more of an excuse you want, in charge of the beer tent in Pop's
Cool Zone is Malcolm Clare that's
right 'The Root of All Evil' will actually
be on the side of the angels for a day and if anybody can force
that extra beer into you ........ Need I say more. Anyway make
sure you go to the Fair and make sure you pay
Pop's Cool Zone a visit. Horseshoe Point will as has become their habit
be running all sorts of kiddies rides, water events etc all
organized by Mr. Smiles Ko of Horseshoe Point.
Any stall involving Stephan Ryser is always
worth visiting. Bernie Tuppin of the Pattaya Sports
Club will be running this years ever popular Children's
Raffle on the day, have a look at the Care4Kids
Auction site or the Care4Kids website
either through the link at the side of this page or go direct
to www.care4kids.info
which has a list of all the fantastic prizes available at the
Children's Fair Raffle.
For the teenagers, or those with teenage hearts at 3.00
p.m. on the main stage Thailand's
current heartthrobs B.O.Y. (Blood of Youth)
will be taking to the stage for a forty minute set and will
then be around to sign autograph's etc. Well done to Captain
Steve Ponter on this for getting together with Grammy
to organize this. It's the first time we have had anybody that
needs a private dressing room, definitely a step up for us. Neil Smith and Poodle Pete our regular compeer's
will be in action all day, and let’s be 'fair' they are
an entertainment in themselves. The Pattaya Mail will
be there as well both for the T.V. and the newspaper.
I have only mentioned a couple of things about the Fair
this is only the tip of the Iceberg, for more details have a
look at the map, or just click onto www.care4kids.info

Happiness at Jameson’s
This Saturday not only
sees the last of the Tri-Nations games of the
season, kick off at 5.00 p.m. (please look
up our sports schedule for run down of the sports on T.V this
week). But also on Saturday it is our wonderful
Manageress Ae's Birthday, so starting at half
time in the rugby there will be masses of the wonderful Jameson'sbar snacks from Vinai's kitchen
in Jameson's, and I have it on pretty good information
that at some point during the evening Ae will
be persuaded to ring the bell for all her well wishers. Sunday as well as the Jesters Care4Kids
Charity Drive 2008 Fair at Diana Driving Range and Resort,
after that there is the next Formula One Grand Prix
at 6.30 p.m. After all the action from last week's
game who could possibly miss the action this week. Dr.
Iain Corness of course will be in the thick of the
action in his usual place on the starting grid in the Jameson's
sport room. Due to the incredible roll up of Formula
One enthusiast's, turning up a few minutes early to
get a good view of the giant 100' screen in the sport room would
seem advisable.
All other sports events will of course be shown on all the other
plasma screens in Jameson's during the course
of the weekend.
Nice to have a lot of
the crew back in action in Pattaya including
Paul Baker, Karen Pennock (more beautiful than
ever) Paul Dobbs, the Master of Destruction Sam Peebles,
plus our wonderful regulars Peter Mack, The Youth Policy
Derek, Paul, and Steve, Cricket Geoff, Dennis and Lek, Terry
Schofield of No Fixed Abode, nice to see Mark
Stubbs, my dear fiend Ian Harrington, Simon
and Debbie, Woody, Kevin Mitch, Linden, Fairy Ingrid, Johny
Live, Stuart and Moo, Jason Payne, Kobi, Rony Fineman
whizzing about who cannot stop talking about the upcoming Premiere
of his new movie 'The Queen of Langkasuka'
more of which you can read about on the events page of this
website and of course this diary, Bryan, and
our Captain of all things Football
Brian Abbott, Geordie Darren. Great to hear about the
Mott The Hoople Reunion from Colin Powell.
Reading Football Club had a wonderful result
last week, we didn't play!
On Friday 12th September Jameson's have the
delights of the PSC Monthly Medal presentation,
