Not
a good weekend for England Sport Supporters
Not a good weekend for Englishsports supporters, but
it was a wonderful weekend at the pub with of course very happy
Welsh rugby supporters, delirious Scottish supporters,
Cardiff Supporters, Barnsley supporters, The Reading Football
Club Supporters Club Pattaya Division's East, West, and North
sections quite beside themselves with joy. Pattaya City
Football Club secured another great victory as they
close in on the championship. So we had some happy people and
some not so happy, some drinking to celebrate (Crème
de Menthe), some drinking to forget, (mostly the English).
Don't forget we have a full weekend of sports events this weekend,
please look up our sports schedule for full details, but it
is going to be a long Saturday night of Rugby.
We will of course be showing other sports in separate areas
and sometimes all in the same place at once.
Lots of Jesters Care4Kids activity this week
again for full details look up the Jesters Care4kids
link at the side of the page, and for news of the lovely Lola,
look up the events page.
Please remember
the Jesters Care4Kids Charity Drive is on Sunday
14th September at the Diana Driving Range and Resort,
at which Judi McNamara of Easy Riders will
be running a second hand book stall, Jameson's
is a drop of point for all your old books which we can put to
fine use the earlier we get them the better. This is followed
by the Pub Night at Jameson's on Saturday 20th September,
which includes lots of musical acts, magicians, the conclusion
of the grand raffle, and the auction. The Auction site
for the Jesters care4Kids Charity Drive is
up and running and can be seen by clicking the link at the side
of this page. If you fancy anything make a bid.

The Plot thickens at Nova Table
Lots
of great folk in the bar this week, all the Keeleys, Wow,
Waew, and James, all the Payne's Jason, Nui, and Leo. Leo
is growing up so fast and it is quite startling when he starts
chatting to you across the bar. Bob the builders
entire collection have been in Stuart, Moo, Sophie, and
James. Sophie was kind enough to take some photos for
this diary on Saturday as she was the only one
small enough to get through the crowds to take pictures. There
was a splendid turn out of Pattaya Panthers and Panties
for the Rugby, but one should of smelled a rat
when you worked out how many Welsh and Scots
there were in the bar. I have never seen Graham Watkins,
and Jill and Gethen Thomas so happy. Saturday
also saw the return of the Font of all Knowledge Graham
Macdonald so life can start going back to normal again
now, after wedding's, honeymoon's, and election's well as normal
as it can do, and for as long as possible. Thank you to Peter
Smith and Mr. Bruce of Jack Tar Bar for renewing our
satellite card so we can continue to watch the rugby at the pub
for another year. Geoff Evans has proved what
a good friend he is, and had a cracking Birthday party
in the pub on Sunday. Whilst rugby ruled on Saturday.
Friday not to be outdone had a marvelous party
with Steve Graham and all the boys and girls
from ESC, even including Terry Schofield
of No Fixed Abode, along with J.K and Shel, John,
and the rest at the same time the mighty Sam Peebles was
also holding a party because it was Friday. The
Franklin's are always on the move and buzzing about.
This week should see the return of Muffy Kerr, Mike Axford,
Woody from Bangkok. Ian Harrington has continued to do
a superb job as the Executive, Trainee, Deputy, Junior,
Assistant Manager of Jameson's The Irish pub. The
Jameson's Roving Ambassador Mark Stubbs is back from
Roving and back at his table on week night and
sends regards to Tony and Iris Ritchie. Jan
Holt has been on the blower helping out with our plans
for a visit from the Easter Bunny's visit to
the Fountain of Life on the 20th. When they wanted
a short fat person to play the Easter Bunny,
why did everybody look at the Landlord? Simon
and Debbie were in fine form over the weekend. Very nice
to hear we shall be getting a visit from Ken Sly
in the very near future. Good to see Joe Grunwell
for the rugby. Linus has kept a firm grip on
his blanket, but all good things come to an end, and he is due
back at his desk this Friday. Young Steve
and Young Paul have struck up with Ray
and chaos has ensued, trying to keep things a little calmer are
Ian, Graham, Jimmy Mike, Lek and Dennis (fine laundry),
Ashley, Jon Fox of the wonderful Q Cars left his usual
trail of destruction behind him when he paid a visit, but along
the way did a magnificent job of fixing up the Landlord's
old jalopy.

Linus, Bob the Builder and somebody

The Panthers gather to watch some
rugby. Little did they know they would of been better off watching
Reading
Had a very
funny e-mail from Sid Silk and one from Muffy,
both of which are far too rude to print on this family diary.
Looking forward to having Muffy back, I wonder
whether we will still have our early morning e-mails when he
is not at work. Really great to have the Sandilands
back, the level of lunacy always skyrockets with these two about,
sleeping on motorbikes, driving motorbikes into the bar, drinking
raspberry vodka, oh the stories we could tell. The Bryant's
of course have been on top form with welcome stories from all
the Bryant's Rick, Harpic, Jake, Paige, and Abi. The
Tooth Fairy Ingrid flew in and out again, Paul
Strachan does wonders at the Pattaya Mail
to help us all out and the Malhotra's of course.
Woody and Wild Bill from the Jesters keep dashing
in and out with more pamphlets and stickers for the Care4Kids,
do not forget this is a wonderful way to help support the
Charity Drive either by putting a sticker up on your
letter box or car, or if you have a shop, bar, hotel, or anywhere
that we can put some pamphlets please let us know and we will
supply at the drop of a hat.

elections

The big
news from Bangkok is that my old mucker Tim
Rawlinson has become the new Jameson's Bangkok
Manager, all of you that know Tim
will know to expect big things to happen now he is at the helm
in the pub in Bangkok, and those of you that
don't know him, go and see him in the pub in Bangkok,
and meet the man in person. Ray Matti is off
playing Cricket in Hong Kong although we did
see Curly Wurly who came in for drinks with
Goy. The Root of All Evil, Malcolm
Clare is till Oop North, but it cannot be long now
before he darkens our door. Jimmy Howard came into watch the rugby on
Saturday and as usual held centre stage in the sports
room, Jimmy had little English
flags painted onto his face very patriotic, sadly Jimmy
being such a clean person he went to the toilet and automatically
washed his face afterwards washing off most of the art work.
Perhaps with the result it was quite appropriate. My
Mum wrote to me to cheer me up and told me that at
least the England Girls Rugby team, did at
least thrash their Scottish counterparts over
the weekend. Captain Steve Ponter has become an absolute
stalwart around Nova Table and I don't know
what we would do without him these days. Tuesday 1st April looms ever closer which will
see a combined event at Jameson's of Mike Franklin's
Birthday, April Fool's Day, and a new World
of Wines wine list at Jameson's. Keep
this Tuesday free as it should be quite a laugh
all rounds.
This weekend
sees the start of the Formula One Grand Prix
season, much to the delight of Iain Corness
and all his cronies. Please look up our sports schedule for
all the details. I expect to have Jon Fox at Nova Table
for midday drinks if anybody would like to watch the race with
a bit of an irreverent commentary from around the table to go
with it.
As you can see, Big Dave's swimming pool is
coming along nicely at Camp Swampy. Terry
is working away diligently getting the biggest rock
music collection in Thailand combining the
collections of Terry himself, Big Dave's,
Graham MacDonald, (well that will be the classic section
taken care of). Matt the Punk of Jools, Brian Abbott,
the Fat Landlord's and Greg Watkins. If we put this
thing on random we will never hear the same song twice for rest
of our lives. Big Dave's collection of Captain
Beefheart goes on for three days solid, just for starters.
Have a very good week everybody, Kim.
