New
Diaries are uploaded around midnight on Thursday, local time,
here in Pattaya by the Landlord Kim Fletcher.
Diary No. 248 Week of 4th January
2010 - 10th January 2010 Updated 14th January 2010
A New Menu
at Jameson's
Yes
Folk's that title is correct, on Monday 18th January 2010
Jameson's will start a New Menu. We
will have a completely new A La Carte Menu for
you to choose from, but even though this menu is new it will still
change on the first Monday of each Month with
the idea being that out of 14 main courses the top eight will
stay every month to be replaced by six new ones, so this should
at least keep people interested in reading the Menu!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course the Steak of the Month, and the Roast of the
Month will simply change every month, as will Kim's
Choice. All suggestions are welcome, and will be given
a chance on the new menu (Except for Pagey's
idea of Free Food for Everybody!).
We have also stopped the Daily Specials, and
will now have a Weekly Set Menu of Three Starters, Three
Main Courses, and Three Desserts. You can see the
first Week's Menu starting on Monday 18th January
on this Diary as well as the Main menu.
For the Three Course Meal it will be 255 Baht, Two Courses
235 Baht, and One Course 195 Baht. This will also give
you the opportunity to have the Set Menu at the time of your leisure
(This Meal, all 3 Courses can be served with
45 minutes at Lunch Time if
you’re in a hurry, just make sure you have Fire Insurance
as we like to serve our food hot) and give you a choice very evening. The New Menu has given us the chance to completely
start again, some of the old favorites have been taken off the
menu, not because of any other reason than they had been with
us for 5 years, and as they say a change is as good as a rest,
but of course begging letters containing money could always cause
a change of heart and say replacing the Ribs etc, but I will say
that the New Ham Hock on the Menu more than makes
up for the loss of the Ribs, as was tasted by Big Mark
Bates. The Jameson's Weekend Carvery will now only be
on Sundays, as the Saturday Carvery
will make way for a Saturday Night Curry Buffet,
including English, Indian, and Thai Curries.
I am Happy to say that the New Menu has been
made in cooperation with Matt and Charlie from Asia/West
Products. Which has made the whole change over much easier,
and of course means there is a joint effort to make sure everything
is perfect.
Please feel free to let me know what you think of the Menu, and
obviously please come and try it out.

After
the Christmas and New Year Festivities everything
is back to as normal as it gets around Jameson's.
The New Nova Gold Hotel has been a big hit with
it reaching capacity over the festive period and remaining that
way ever since which is marvelous for Jameson's.
Martin at Minus Five is also doing very well,
and with new business's popping up all round Soi A.R
things are definitely on the up in the area.
Way to many people have been through the door in the last month,
but I thought the photos in last week's diary gave you a pretty
good indication of who was here and who wasn't.
Special mention must go out to several people though. The
F.C Nova Pattaya team is back with their usual bang,
and on the opening game of the season they scored five, not bad
for a team that had certainly indulged themselves over the
Festive Season. The Mighty Sam Peebles and family
certainly left their mark certainly on Christmas Day.
Nice to see Paul Dobbs. Jameson's Football
Expert and Captain Brian Abbott, Big Mark Bates , Graham MacDonald,
Richard and Maggie Waller of the Wonderful World of Wines, Richard
and Ali from Portugal, Jim Sherman, Des Halls, Paul Slack, Young
Steve Page always with a smile on his face. If anybody
is in touch with Iris Ritchie please ask her
to call me. Big Dave Hoyle (why I call him Big
Dave anymore I have no idea as he ways less than me!)
Has been down. Sadly Linus (Stu Mitchell,
Fat Bob, whatever) has now gone back to Wales
but will be back soon I hope. Dai and Porn Coe
went off for a little holiday, but came back, and are ready to
go on the rampage again. Nice to see Led Zeppelin reak
Mark Windslade. Coronation Street Mal, Terry
Schofield, Ron, Weaw and James Keeley. RayC, Peter Malhotra, Iain
Corness and Family. The Root of All Evil was away over
Christmas but will return shortly. The Great
eruption that happens every time John Vinyard
steps into town. John and Dai Coe between them
nearly drank Jameson's dry on the 30th
January which really was a day early. This Friday there is the Annual B.C.C.T
Pub Networking Night at Jameson's sponsored By Steve Graham of
ESC so a good time for all is insured. This Thursday
sees the start of the Final Cricket Test match
between South Africa and England, let's hope it's as
exciting as the first three games. Now when do they play
the One Day Series.......................... Oh yes that's
right England have already won that one. Saturday this week sees Ali Greening's
Birthday Party with Roast Lamb featuring very heavily
on the Final Saturday Carvery. See you at the
bar, Kim.
Lloyd Sherman takes the Jameson’s Bob the Barman Man
of The Match Award for F.C Nova last Saturday 9th quite an achievement
as F.C Nova under the watchful eye of Coach Stuart Levy scored
Five Goals on their comeback for the Second half of the season.
F.C Nova are now in Second Place in Division Two of the MBMG
League. Anybody who would like a game for F.C Nova should come
to Jameson's Pattaya and contact Kim Fletcher or Stuart Levy
The Hartleys say happy New Year
The Fineman Family have a Family Breakfast at Jameson's

Will the owner of these glasses come and collect them please
Nova Table is covered by Mark Bates and Dai Coe
Car Club as ever gets completely out of Hand. If you read the
Pattaya Mail and in Particular Iain Corness's Motoring Column
it quite clearly states "A small group of Like Minded folk".
It was nearly standing room only
The Party for the arrival of the Newcomb twins (more like a
Boro convention)
"Geoff Evans having a bottle
of wine delivered in Singapore.
Now if only Richard Waller could get Ron to deliver the Wine like
this (perhaps not!)"
Cheers,
