Jolly
Japes at Jameson's
Another week
of extremes at Jameson's. How on earth can you
not have fun with all the crew in the bar, not forgetting the
staff, Nova Table has been bursting at the seams
with good folk theBryant's
leading the charge on Wednesday, all of them.
Rick, the mischievous Harpic, Jake, Paige
and Abbi. Also causing a sensation wherever they go Simon
and Debbie, the Jameson's roving Ambassador Mark Stubbs,
our regular character Ian (Lady Di) Harrington The Executive,
Assistant, Deputy, Junior, Trainee, Manager, Johnnie Live, Thailand's
best Hairdresser, Frank and Frank, Captain Steve, with
his mate David, Lek and Dennis who's laundry
is now doing very well now that the road has been fixed, and they
have taken on the laundry for The Pattaya Panthers and
Panties rugby team, and The Pattaya City Football
Team, Graham Woo, Ian, Peter Mack, Sam Peebles, Motorbike Shaun,
Big Dave, Birmingham Jimmy, a very happy Graham
Watkins, Joe Grunwell, Jim Howard, Stuart Daly, Jason Payne, Ron
Keeley, who you will have noticed has really jazzed up
the website which should make it much easier to get round, the
diary will now purely be the diary, all sports events will be
in a separate section, we have a separate section for the
Pattaya Panthers and Panties, a special events section
etc. Oh he is a bit of a whiz kid is our Ron.
What a lovely family theKeeley's
are Ron, Weaw, James. We also of course have
the Young's Stuart, Moo, Sophie and James. Jason, Nui,
and Leo Payne, Darren and family, Chris and Jenny are
with us for a while, Rob and Wit, Ashley, Young Steve
and Young Paul with Joy, Derek of Blu Bar, Eoin and Shelley Quirke,
Mickey Price, Tony Malhotra, Jack and Jin Levy, Iain and Som Corness.
Nice to hear from Mike Axford. Good news for
Tony and Iris Ritchie they have started selling
Berocca again in Boots. Geoff Evans has flown
down to Singapore and back getting over his jet
lag at the moment. Geoff Evans also gave the
Landlord the perfect DVD present a series called "Outside
Edge" a comedy sitcom all about an eccentric English
Cricket Team it stars Timothy Spall
and the chap whose name I cannot remember from Jeeves
and Wooster pure class.
Good old
Johnnie Fox the owner of Q Cars
has taken the Landlord's battered old Chevrolet
away to fix up all it's bumps, bruises, scraps and bit's that
just don't work, which is wonderfully generous of him in the
first place, but what is even better the replacement truck one
of Jon's new cars at Q Cars is wonderful, Jon
will have to fight very hard to get me to swap back again I
can tell you. If anybody needs to rent a car, buy a car or do
anything to do with cars Jon Fox is the man
to see. The Q Cars link is on the side of this
page.
Greetings to all for a belated Happy Chinese New Year,
and for all you young lovers Happy Valentines
for the 14th.
Nice to see the Fineman Family in having a
Wednesday Special, Steak and Mushroom Pie always
goes down well, Derek from Bar Blu would not
miss it for the world. Both Dobbs were in although
David fell off the wagon dramatically by turning
to Fernet Branca, never a very smart idea. PeterMack and company drank
a fair amount of Jacob Creek (when I say fair I mean it is a
good job they do not sell it in gallon containers). Geordies
Darren and Chris did a fair amount of damage to the
Sanmig Light stocks, as the rest of us stood around looking
at all the Stella lager pumps about to be installed. The
Landlord was no where to be seen as he was driving
around in the new Q Car lent to him by Jon
Fox the owner of Q Cars, with the
new Stackridge album blaring out the stereo,
eat your heart out Sandilands. Malcolm Clare "The
Root of All Evil" rang up with some devastating
news about the upcoming Saturday the 9th February
if you want to know what that is all about you will have to
be in Jameson's on Saturday night to find out.
Dangerous Dave was his usual dangerous self.
Aussie Brian brought John
in for a final meal before the big departure, it has been really
nice meeting you John, especially teaching
you about cricket, we hope to see you back soon. Debbie
safety was in, Simon Philbrook was in further
depleting the Sanmig Light stock. Sid Silk's
Raspberry Vodka is gone finished it is no more. The conversation
often wandered round to how Ray Matti is doing
on the house boat and Graham and Jay in Egypt.
We all look forward to the newWorld
of Wines new Jameson's House wine list, Mateus
Rose anybody? Ron Keeley spent most
of the evening fiddling about with the website, please let us
know if you think it is an improvement? Don't if you do not
like the new image, what do you think John Hagan?
Moo likes it.
David, Kim and the man of fire Captain Steve Ponter always
promoting the Jesters Care4Kids Charity Drive. Do not forget
these wonderful events firstly the Fair at the Diana Driving
Range and Resort on Sunday September 14th, followed by the Party
Night at Jameson's on Saturday 20th September with all it's
bands, raffles, auctions etc. Thank you to all of you that are
already bringing in your second hand books for Judi McNamara's
second hand book stall at the Fair
Stuart young with young daughter Sophie, Young Paul, and
go on Young Ian
Is this Kim's Bentley? No I don't think so
But this is the magnificent Q Cars truck that Kim is driving
around in now that his battered old bone shaker is being fixed
up Jon Fox of Q Cars
Nova Table hot’s up with the arrival of Jon Fox of
Q Cars, the lovely Debbie, Simon, Rick Bryant and the Frank's
Dennis and Lek enjoy a well earned break from the Laundry with
a cold beer at Jameson's
Robert
Daws was the name of that
actor I could not remember the name of in that splendid sitcom
that Geoff Evans gave to me, 'Outside
Edge' Simon Philbrook is biting at the
bit to get his hands on it. Seen in the bar on Jesters
business was the lovely Gap, Woody, Debbie Lightley, Wild
Bill, all plotting to make life better for the underprivileged. Saturday was a gang busting night started off
with Sam Peebles and Peter Mack getting us under
way with the sound of ringing bells, they were joined by the usual
suspects Peter, Jimmy, Chris, Motorbike Shaun, Denis and
Lek, Ian, Graham Woo and family, Stuart Daly, Derek of Bar Blu.
Steve Ponter made a grand entrance as did the new Steve.
The Panthers and Panties turned out in force
to watch the rugby with Mike and Cyril turning
the library into a Welsh valley. Sadly for the
Brits there was also room to see the New Zealand
vs. England Cricket game, as well as some football games
in the evening. The Reading Football Club Supporters Society,
were very down in the mouth after another unfortunate result.
The night was then turned into complete turmoil by the arrival
of Malcolm Clare for his Birthday party,
words fail to me to describe the devastation that went on. Moo
got Malcolm a wonderfully fitting cake and Malcolm
breathed fire to put them out. Then with the rugby in full flow,
Jan brings in Casino Steel and Honest
John Plain, Casino is one of the great singer song/writers
of our time, and Honest John Plain has obviously
done a deal with the Root's mate the devil because
boy can he play guitar. The Landlord went into
Starstruck mode, but did get the boys to sign a couple of albums,
which will be auctioned at the Jesters Care4Kids Charity
Drive at Jameson's on Saturday 20th September, pictures
of the album covers are up on the auction site which has a link
at the side of this page. Before The Root of All Evil
lived up to his name, and struck with a huge round of El Diablo's,
which just about left conversation impossible by that time Casino
and John have just formed a new band the Steel/Plain
Band and have just released their debut album "The
Last Rock 'n' Roll Band'' which is riding high in the
European charts, and the boys are across her
for a spot of R and R before turning on back the road. Sunday starting off with a roar as I went up
to BIRA Circuit to see how our adopted young
racing driver James Grunwell was getting on in
the 24 hour Go-Kart race, sadly although the team that James
was driving for had had no end of problems with their cart losing
six minutes in the first our due to a brake failure, and from
then on everything that could go wrong did. But it was still a
great spectacular and one could not help but think how lucky we
were to be there, free entrance, cold beer, good company and exciting
racing to watch, and you were right up close too.

Charity Drive is now in full swing with the Fair at the Diana
Driving Range and Resort on Sunday 14th September, and the Party
Night on Saturday 20th September at good old Jameson's
After
this we all descended upon Horseshoe Point for
a game of Soft Ball organized by the
Bryant's, what a laugh. Sides were picked like back in
the school yards with two captains picking alternately, the
Landlord had that sinking feeling when he was picked
last but soon got in the swing of things (swing of things get
it). Rick's team were called "The
Good Guys'' whilst the polite name for the other team
was "Thommo's Tornados". We played
two games and as is always the way The Good Guys
lost both games the first one 8-10, and the second one by a lot
more. During the game the Mark Thompson family
excelled themselves, even though Rick Bryant
seemed to be on a mission to wipe them out, Jimmy Howard
showed himself to be a Demon bowler, Frank
just turned out to be a Demon, John hit three
home runs in one game, Harpic got an extra run
by beating up Rick, throwing the ball away, and
grabbing an extra trip round the bases, the run was disallowed
but by the powers invested in me I give Harpic
her run back. Eoin Quirk showed all his competitive
spirit by running out anybody under the age of eight, Shelley
ran around the outfield trying to keep the Good Guys
in the chase, Jake just could not bring himself
to run out May for which reason's you had to
be at the ground. Meryl the Panties calendar
girl turned into a right slugger, we have solved the England
wicket keeping problem, Deborah Lightley is a
natural behind the bat, dealing with children and some harsh sledging
from her Captain Rick, Philip got himself a new
hero (The Landlord). Great Fun.
Then it was all back to Jameson's for another
Birthday Harry's this time, thankfully this was
not followed by El Diablo's this time. Of course more rugby and
football on the big screen, and many tall tales of soft ball.
Please do not forget your old books for our Easy Rider
Book Stall run by Judi McNamaraat the Jesters Charity Drive Fair
at the Diana Driving Range on Sunday 14th September.
The used book stall is always very popular, and more importantly
always makes a lot of money as it is all profit. But we need your
old books to make it successful. Rony Fineman is back from his business trip,
and leaping about in Jameson’s again. The
new Stella lager is proving very popular.

Hi Kim,
Well my friend I hope that the healthy sandwich means you are
taking care of your health? or is that too much to ask.
Glad to see the Jameson's website from time to time and everyone
still looks the same and very happy.
I won't talk about the cricket the football or the rugby - guess
you get enough ribbing over all of that.
Ian and I are both really well though stupidly busy - keeps him
off the streets I guess !!!!!!!!
Eileen sent me some photos of Graham and Jay's wedding - looked
like a wonderful day all round and of course Jay looked amazing
- I am sure they will both be very happy.
Lots of love to you all
Pat

Hi Kim
Nice to hear from you. How have you been?
We have been enjoying summer
by the beach with Pat’s family and a few friends ( and lots
of alcohol). Most weekends we have been able to get up to the
area and have been reluctant to return home. Not today, has been
pouring with rain all over Australia – so much for the drought!.
A new holiday house up at Lakes Entrance, about 3.5 hrs drive
away on our side of the city in a beach / lake environment / natural
bush environment. Absolutely lovely – early morning surf,
cooked BBQ breakfast on the balcony, a leisurely afternoon fishing
/ snorkeling for abalone; couple of cold ales and into an evening
of food and wine. Keeping the sun off while surfing is about the
biggest issue so far aside from opening wine bottles. Prawning
season is about to start and plan to visit again in two weeks
chasing sand crabs as well.In the throes of buying a bigger car
for Pat and a 5.2m fiberglass boat. Life is tough.
Australia’s summer of
cricket has been uninspiring with India and the sledging debacle
and an uncompetitive Sri Lanka. Whilst on paper we have covered
the retirements, it is quite apparent that despite Lee stepping
up to replace McGrath, neither of the spinners used have been
convincing; and the two pacemen used to back Lee up have not penetrated.
Add to that a batting line up that have struggled and the retirement
of Gilchrist, the change in world order is not far away. I suspect
South Africa could be chaffing at the bit for the next test series.
Six Nations start was not
convincing – a bad loss to Wales could leave England’s
rugby season in tatters. Jameson’s must have been like a
morgue in the second half as it started to unravel.
Say hello to Graham
and the crew for us
Kind Regards
