I know there will be a few
disappointed people who have not made selection, but please come
down and support the boys, especially Sunday.
There is a bar at the ground
serving ice cold beers and food will be available from the poolside
bar.
On Saturday evening there
is a buffet at the poolside which all players are expected to
support, starting from around 7pm and finishing late. The pool
will be available after the games and that is where you will find
me cooling down and relaxing, whilst regaling stories of the days
play, with a beer in my hand. I hope you will join me, as I am
not keen on talking to myself!
Players please arrive no later
than one hour prior to the start on the match and we will meet
at the poolside bar. PCC shirts will be available for those who
have not purchased theirs yet for 600 baht each. Match fees for
the players is 250 baht and the buffet on the Saturday evening
is 500 baht.
Umpires and scorers for the
day will be Kim Fletcher, Glyn Davies, Rabbi, Frank and Pav. Please
do not abuse them and look after their wellbeing. Without them
the day would not be possible.
Thanks again to all concerned
and let’s make these inaugural fixtures a weekend to remember.
Cheers
Simon
Big
Time and Now Cricket
What a weekend last weekend,
great Friday in the Pub with Dai Coe
leading the way, and the Geordie Boys going from
the Magnificent Seven, to the Fantastic
Four to the Dynamic Duo, with over the
holiday only Col (Mottman) Powell making it out
on every night. Last weekend saw on the television,
Six Nations Rugby (what a game between Wales
and Scotland, it's the first time in my life I have felt
sorry for the Scottish!!!!!!). Mind you the
Landlord's predictions of the three games in
the Eoin Quike Championship were a little awry France
0 Ireland 24 was perhaps a little ambitious. Only one
guess as to where the Landlord is at the moment
in the Quirke league? F.A Cup Football
which always throws up a few curve balls, Super Fourteens
Rugby, Cricket between India
and South Africa, Golf (for Alan). It was nice to see
all the Jameson's sporting sides making an appearance
in huge numbers this weekend. F.C Nova Football Team
taking over the main bar area for the ritual after Match
Curry. Now F.C Nova have a very good
team very strong and skillful, the only slight problem is that
age is not on our side, so for the first 60 minutes we are usually
in complete control, with in particular Nick and
Aldershot towers of Power in Defense Derbs and Lee
in the middle and Dag up front, and Terry
in Goal. Now the trouble is that up to sixty minutes it's all
F.C Nova, then fatigue hits in and we need substitutes,
Well........... To cut a long story short we haven't got much
depth and need more players. Now in Pattaya there
must be loads of Lads that would fancy a kick about at the weekend,
a bunch of fun and friendly guys to hang out with well now is
your chance training is on Wednesday night and
a game most weekends. Either contact Stuart Levy on +66852878885
or come into the Pub and see us or make a B-Line
for me Kim Fletcher. You will be made more than
welcome.

If the wind changes Little John you will stay that way until
you’re the same age as Big John
Photographic evidence of the Scourge eating. Many people say
that the Scourge does not eat, I too thought this was true,
but be hold and you shall believe
Chaos ensues in Jamo’s as the remaining Geordie Boys “The
Fantastic Four” join up with the Hunter Trio in preparation
for a night out. Apparently preparing for a night out includes
a leaving party for Mark, Lanky & Big Mark, about 30 bottles
of beer each, no food, and a lot of talk
Little John
Little John and Grandpa
Would you believe it?? Everyone as Geordie. Sadly not everybody
respects the Newcastle United shirt, as you can see poor Colin
has had custard poured all over it. Mind Sam Peebles would of
never stood for it
Alan the golf, the lovers Jane & Mal at the Jameson’s
Bar, now that Mal & Jane are up again on the diary this
week, Jane will make sure that the diary is seen all over the
world. What a good girl you are Jane
Before you drink you’ve got to eat!!!
The Pattaya Panthers Rugby
team was also out in strength this weekend with The
Quirke's Eoin and Shelley (Eoin a
little crestfallen after the game in Paris).
Des Halls, Simon and Nin Quirke, Graham Watkins
(a very relieved Welsh man), Graham
MacDonald, J.K, Tai and Ice, Sir. James's Howard, and
of course Mickey (T-Shirt) Price who came in
wearing a bright red sun tan after going out to Burapha
Bike Week another event that was on last weekend.
The Pattaya Cricket Club was represented by
Simon and the Sexy Deborah Philbrook, The Pattaya Cricket
Umpires Union was represented by Glynn Davies
and Kim Fletcher whilst the Pattaya Cricket
Scorer (He who must be obeyed) was the one and only
Malcolm Clare 'The Root of All Evil', The Pattaya Community
Players Society sent Paul Strachan
as a Representative, Captain Steve Ponter was
sent to be a force from The Jesters Care4Kids Charity
Drive 2010, and Spaghetti Head was
here from the Pattaya Hash House Harriers,
a Drinking Club with a running problem. This Friday the Pattaya Sports Club Golf Section
will be holding their Monthly Golf Medal Prize Giving
in Jameson's on Friday night. This weekend sees the first Cricket
at Horseshoe Point with on Saturday
a game between Pattaya Cricket Club and the British
Club this will be more of a beer match played in a
20/20 format, followed on Sunday by
a 'Proper' game of 35 overs. The games start
at 11 o'clock each day and Transport
will be laid on from Jameson's please see me
to make sure you get a place. Otherwise there is a Map on this
page if you want to take your own car. Do not fear there is
plenty of shade, and lovely cold beer at Horseshoe Point.
Well this weekend all eyes will turn to Horseshoe Point
as Cricket in Pattaya takes center
stage emphasising how far Pattaya has come
since the first time Landlord first came to
Pattaya in 1984. When he thought it was a small
village with a couple of Bars on one side of the road and none
on the other side (It took me three days to realize there was
no Bars on the other side of the road as there was a sea there!).
But now after a lot of work from Jate and his crew at
Horseshoe Point, and Mr. Simon Philbrook plus many
others Live Cricket will begin this
Saturday all the relevant details are on this page.
Anybody who needs transport please turn up at Jameson's
and something will be sorted out. There is also a map on our
Pattaya Panthers Page on this diary. I promise
you all a full report on next week's Diary.
Sadly Cricket has come to late for
the Landlord to be involved playing although he hopes
to enjoy himself Umpiring.
Turning to other sporting matters F.C Nova
are battling away as normal, although age and injuries seem
to be creeping up on us all. The first 60 minutes as I say are
fine but after that we tend to fade away anybody with aspirations
to kick a round leather ball about should come and see us at
Jameson's. Jonathan Wilson if your reading this remind
your life the delightful Sarah that she owes
me a picture of Angela !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well that's it for this week, Howzatt and all that, Kim,
Rony and Moo.
Mass Hysteria breaks out in Jameson's with the arrival of
Captain Steve, accompanied here by Dai Coe celebrating the narrowest
of Welsh Victories, Landlord Kim, and Elle
The Hunter joins the Fantastic Four for their last night
before Davey and Angus head to the Hills. You'll notice that
after two weeks in Thailand Davey is looking almost healthy
Bupa you are such a sweetheart sending flowers to Alice on Valentine's
Day. And you didn't think we would guess
All my love from Heineken
Sunday Night at Jamo's
Wanchai
and Moo's weekend at Escape Polo Club with the Pattaya Rotary
For your information and if you wish further
information please follow the links. I had to have a new Passport
this year and I found the Postal Service very good. I also know
that Dennis of Dennis and Lek Laundry also sent his too and
was very happy with the results. What's the difference between
sending it too Hong Kong or Bangkok?
