Great Rock
'n' Roll Week for Kim Fletcher at Jameson's
For those
of you that wish to know what Mott The Dog
thought about the wonderful Rock Festival,
put on by Ritchie and Tom at the Nirvana Resort in Soi
4 Jomtien, please go to this link on the Ian
Hunter website at http://www.ianhunter.com/ihboard/viewtopic.php?t=4071
For the rest of you, you will just have to look at all the photos
that were taken by Wanchai and Malcolm Clare The Root
of All Evil. I think it is plainly obvious by the photos
that not only was there a lot of work put in by a lot of people,
but a lot of people had a lot of fun. The beer was Neil
Sandilands cold, and the Nirvana Resort
has to be the place to stay if you are staying in Jomtien.
The pub has been rockn'rollng as well all week with many people
putting in star appearances. My Jimmy, Mottman Colin
Powell, and the Scourge Alan Taylor have all played
their part in the pub, but have now gone off for a week's travels.
Ron Keeley, Weaw and James from the wonderful
World of Wines, and Johnny Fox of Q Cars, a
fleeting but devastating visit by Ray and Curly Wurly
Matti. Malcolm Clare The Root of All Evil has been
well The Root of all Evil. Des Hall is back
and ruling the roost at Nova Table (he was
left in charge of the pub last Monday, but
I will give you full details of this in next week's diary, if
the pub is still standing). Graham Macdonald (The Font
of All Knowledge). Proved that he even has very good
judgement in taking a wife as Jay made sure
she got taken out for Valentines Day, but also
made sure that Graham was back in the pub in
front of the T.V. for the kick off of the Rugby.
Paul Dobbs and Brian Abbott have been up to
their usual tricks, and Judi McNamara, has
held her place at the table. Some good Birthday's
last week with Dang Fineman celebrating her
Birthday as well as Paul Dobbs.
This week's notable Birthday's include Rosemary
Fletcher, and our world famous Head Barman
Bob's Birthday.
Sadly this
week there is a break in the Six Nations Rugby Tournament,
but we still have a full sports schedule on the T.V for more
details please look up our sports section on the link at the
side of this page.
Nice to see new Jesters Charity Drive Committeemember John in the pub
wearing a Jesters Charity Drive T-Shirt. Always
especially good to see Captain Steve Ponter and his
Dad Bill. The Bryant's are always welcome, a little
music conversation is always welcome in Jameson's.
But where are the pickled eggs. Sad to see Sid Silk
leave, but he had finished Stephen Leather
new book, so it really was time to get back to work.
Good to hear from all sorts of folk, Tony and Iris Ritchie,
Lisa Lurve, and David Foden (although what he said
about the England Cricket team after their
collapse for 51 in the 1st Test is unprintable
in these pages), and of course Linus. The Geordies are still here in force led by
Darren, Alec, Derek, and Jimmy. Simon and Debbie
are enjoying being married so much we didn't even see them last
weekend.
It is with great sadness that I have to tell you that our dear
friend Budgie passed away this week. Budgie
was always so full of life and laughter that it is very hard
to imagine he is gone. He was an immediately likeable bloke,
and soon established himself in Jameson's becoming
famous for taking over the pool area with his good buddy George
Again. Budgie would lean out the window and chat up
the passing girls much to the girls delight with Budgie's
natural patter and charm. If you go up to the pool area of Jameson's
you will see that the window looking out on the street, has
a little plague on it saying Budgie's Window,
that will stay there as long as the building stands, and I personally
will always think of Budgie when I wander up
there.
Well as I write this last little bit of the diary for this week,
the Wallers are probably just landing. Des
Hall is rubbing liniment on his legs ready to run the
pub for the night, so it's all happening. We're all off to Bangkok
to go and see Chicago (I hasten to add the
musical not that band that Ken Sly likes so
much). David Haworth has booked in for a month
in the Nova Park so there will be some high
jinx along the line there. The Root of All Evil is
still here this weekend so no one is save. Partyboy
Ray Matti has taken Curly Wurly back
to the lakes, but obviously can come back at the drop of a cricket
bat.

has now got the Jesters Charity Drive Auction
site up and running in fine style some really spectacular memorabilia
from the rock world from Mark Winslade (who
thinks he is in Led Zeppelin) and The
world's greatest Rock Journalist Peter Makowski has
donated many fine items to start us off. It costs nothing to
have a look, and you never know there maybe that special something
there that you want to put a bid on. Don't forget the two big
dates to put in your diary for this years Jester's Care4Kids
Charity Drive 2009 are Sunday 13th September 2009 the Fair at
the Diana Driving Range and Resort, followed by the
Party Night on Saturday 19th September at Jameson's
with all the fun of the climax of the Auction,
the drawing of the top prizes for the raffle, music, laughter,
food, and even perhaps the chance of a drink or two. Start rummaging
around now for your used books as well, as again this year Judi
McNamara will be running the Jameson's Used
Book Stall. This will be our 12th year
of running the book stall and we have always been the third
most profitable stall at the Fair (after The
Beer Tent and The Children's Raffle). So please help
us to maintain this. It is such a great way to make money. You
give us the books for nothing, you then pay us to buy some more
books, and then we give the money for the kids, see easy. Perry McNealy and the whole of the
Pattaya Sports Club will be here on Friday
night 20th February for a party, and always great fun
it is too, everybody joins in whether they have played golf
or not, so come along and join the party. But for you late night
drinkers do not worry as after a long days golf the
Pattaya Sports Club will all be shuffling off home
just as the regulars starting coming in from work on their way
home. Wednesday as ever see's the Pattaya
Hash House Harriers having their regular weekly meeting,
and I must say it is always done with such good humour that
it is hard to actually call it a meeting, more of a jolly get
together.
Well that's it from me this week, there is more than enough
videos and pictures to look at anyway. This week we should have
the diary up and running on time. We finally gave in and paid
the bill!!!
Enjoy your week Kim, Moo, and Rony. Come on
Reading and the Good Guys.
