Jameson's
Landlord Kim Fletcher enjoys a Great Week
As you can
see from the photos Jamo's has been bursting
at the seams all week, rather like the Fat Landlord,
Kim Fletcher. Saturday was a remarkable day, one can only
say that in general, if somebody could arrange it, it would
be nice if the Six Nations could be extended
(I mean what would be wrong with every team playing each other
home and away every year?). Manchester United
could play Liverpool every month (well it's
what people seem to want to watch) and of course we all have
so much fun on St. Patrick's Day possibly we
could celebrate St. Patrick's Day once a month!
Now wouldn't that be a fun world to live in?
We have also solved the England Rugby Teams
problems! Don't let Kim Fletcher watch. As
soon as I don't watch the game they are a different team. Des
Hall is now master of all things Rugby
in Jamo's. So Des Hall will
step up as Jameson's Rugby Coach leaving Jimmy
Howard and Eoin Quirke to get on with the Panthers.
Leaving Brian Abbott to get on with the Football
side of things. To see everything we have got on the
television screens this week please look up our sports schedule
on this page. Remember Jameson's has seventeen
screens including 3 giant plasma screens and the massive screen
in the sports room, so no matter how many live sports are on
at the same time, we can always find a screen for your favorite
sport.
Cheers with Ian Harrington

On a sad
note Jill and Michael Peebles, have gone back
to Geordieland, so we shall not be regaled
by laughter and mirth from that direction for a little while,
but we hope to see them both again soon.
On a much brighter note Gerrard and his moustache
have arrived (Hello Sid Silk) and also now
staying at the Nova Park, is Linus,
Linus is back in his local, arriving on St.
Patrick's Day. As the Guinness people
no longer find it necessary to furbish all their pubs with the
necessary St. Patrick's Day celebrations decorations,
Jameson's are lucky enough to still have the
decorations left from 2007, which was the last
year Guinness gave us any. Linus came
in to join the Table, looked up saw the St.
Patrick's Day decorations for 2007 and said "Is
this 2007? Can I change my English
sterling now please’’. Malcolm Clare The Root of All Evil has been
in his element this week, drinking Creme De Menthe
(It's green right, St. Patrick's Day!) by the
pint, and what's more making everybody else have a fair tipple
too. The Jameson's Reading Football Club Supporters Society,
Pattaya Division North. Have had a pretty rough old
week, assorted anyway, no wonder Steve has
not got any hair left. At least we beat Darlington.
Graham MacDonald reading out the Football
scores on a Saturday night always
reminds me of Michael Benetine doing the Football
scores. Reeeeeeeeaaaaaaddddiiiiinnnnnngggg 0 IPSWICH
1. We also need somebody to do something with the English
Cricket team, The boys not the girls the girls are
superb.

Happy Birthday's
this week to Mark Stubbs our Jameson's Ambassador, and
Harpic Bryant our Anti-Social Secretary of the Jameson's Reading
Football Club Supporters Society Pattaya North. Come
on Reading with supporters like us it should
be easy for you. Richard and Maggie Waller of World of Wine
Fame were in particularly good form on Saturday.
A fantastic weekend of Rugby coming up so please
check our sports schedule for all the details.
Like The Landlord's holiday to go and see his
Mum, The Jesters Care4Kids Charity Drive
is coming up very quickly. Let me just remind you of the dates
for the main events on Sunday 13th September 2009
is the Jesters Care4Kids Charity Fair at the Diana Driving
Range and Resort, which this year looks like it is
going to be even bigger and better this year than last (if that
is possible). Kevin Mitch once again stepping
into the breach, and doing all the organization in his usual
brilliant military precision style. Now whilst talking about
the Fair can I also remind everybody that Jameson's
amongst other things, has a Used Book Stall
at the Fair run by Judi McNamara.
The Used Book Stall is always great fun and
also raises a nice lot of money for the kids. It is simple logic.
(A) You kindly donate to us all your old used
books, which can be dropped off at Jameson's or T.Q
any time, the earlier the better so we can get them sorted.
(B) You come to the Fair,
and then buy a lot of good books at a cheap price, come early
for the best selection. (C) We give all the
money we raise to Kevin who hands it on to
the Care4Kids Charity Drive. Easy.
The next event after the Fair is the
Jesters Care4Kids Charity Party Night at Jameson's on Saturday
19th September 2009 which will feature Paul
Jackson as our compeer , Music from Mike Gerrard,
Rick and Harpic Bryant, and to bring us all to a Rockin'
close Pop's Pattaya All Stars and assorted
guests . On that night there will also be the arrival of Eric
and Robert from their marathon Charity Bike
Ride always an amazing feat of endurance, the climax
to the Raffle and the fantastic Jesters
Care4Kids Charity Auction. The Auction Site
is up and running , with lots of good things up there already
, all you have to do is click on the link on the left hand side
of this page . and you will be whisked into Ron Keeley
of World Of Wine Auction Site , there is plenty to
look at and you might even fancy putting a bid in yourself .
Plenty already have .
There are plenty of ways of helping the Jesters Care4Kids
Charity Drive 2009, obviously by coming to the
Fair, and the Party Night, making
bids on the Auction Site, buying Raffle
tickets, buying T-Shirts, taking a
bumper sticker for your car, taking and reading one of our brochures
and showing them to other people (all available at Jameson's
or T.Q). If you would like to know some more right
now please click on the link on the right hand side of the page
for the Jesters Care4Kids and you will go on
a journey to see all about us the website. It is regularly updated
and is run by our Chairman, Lewis (Woody) Underwood,
and our Webmaster David Smith, a very good
charity, run by some wonderful people, to help those less fortunate
than others.
Topics of conversation around Jamo's is always
amusing, obviously The Root gets mentioned
a lot whether he is there or not, and it's always nice to hear
from Ian, My Jimmy, Lisa Lurve, Cricket Geoff, The Mighty
Sam Peebles and Family, Ian (Lady Di) Harrington, Tony and Iris
Ritchie, The Bouncer Geoff Evans and Aussie Boro Steve, Jack
Levy, The Dream Team, The entire Youth Policy, Ukulele Chris,
Mike and Meow Watkins, Graham Watkins, The Simons (Quigley,
Philbrook, and Edmonds). Speaking of Simon
Edmonds do ask him about his flourishing Cricketing
career, he doesn't so much as build an innings as collapse one,
like that other fine Cricketer Ray Matti, Peter Mack,
CaptainSteve
'Jesters Care4Kids' Ponter, actually we talk about
Steve a lot. The Deborah's and Debbie's,
Fairies and Bunnies! (It's an Easter Thing).
Peter, Tony and Amorn Malhotra, the entire Pattaya Mail
team, Ron, Weaw and James Keeley, and everybody from World of
Wines, the WOW factor. Tommy Fineman, Kobi, Mosquito Bill, &
Dai Coe.
Have a Great Week, Kim, Moo, and Rony.

The Full Blurb
on the Chang Mai Sixes
Once again
the San Miguel Chiang Mai International Cricket Sixes are nearly
upon us. This year, the 22nd successive year there will be played
from Sunday March 29 until Saturday April 4, as usual at the
Gymkhana Club. It has become one of the world’s most popular
amateur cricket tournaments, and once again is being sponsored
by San Miguel.
This year there are 32 teams from around the world, Australia
& England are well represented by 7 teams each. Bahrain,
Bangladesh, China, Greece, Japan, New Zealand, South Africa,
U.E.A., Vietnam and Zimbabwe are all represented. Thailand has
6 teams including the home team of ‘Gymkhana Cavaliers’
as well as ‘Stuffed Beavers’ and the ‘Thai
Thevada’ a team of young Thai nationals who have been
taught the game and coached under Chiang Mai’s Cricket
Development program some of whom the organisers are hoping to
see represent Thailand in the Asian Games.
There are five tournament trophies to be played for, Chiang
Mai Sixes Cup, Bromley Shield, Bowl, Plate and Spoon.
Once again this year, every day of the Chiang Mai sixes will
be broadcast in both audio and video formats. New equipment
is being procured to improve the presentation of the live video
feed. Full details of the broadcasts and other details of the
tournament can be found on the Sixes website at www.chiangmaisixes.com
The Chiengmai Gymkhana Club is situated on the old Chiangmai
Lamphun Road just north of Nong Hoy Market (before the Holiday
Inn Hotel) and is an easy tuk-tuk or songthaew ride from any
part of Chiangmai. Admission to the beautiful, spacious grounds
of the Gymkhana Club is free and there is ample, shaded seating
for cricket spectators. As always, there will a wide variety
of foods on sale, plus cold San Miguel beer and other beverages
will be available from the "Boundary Bar" which is
located right in the heart of the action. The Sixes is sure
to be a fun-filled seven days and a big crowd puller for residents
of Chiangmai and visitors to our northern city.
