The Big
Game
This Saturday
23rd August at Horseshoe Point, kick off at 4.00 (ish!).
Sees The Mighty Jameson's Brian Abbott Marauders Football
Team take on the visiting Greg's B.C.C.T. Terrors
Football side from Bangkok. Do not let all the big
talk fool you, these are the least serious games of football
ever played. The idea is that everybody gets a game, we have
a penalty shoot out (if we need one or not), and then it's all
back to the pub for the presentation of the Jameson's
Cup, all tuck into the Jameson's Carvery,
a few pints and relax and watch the professionals have a kick
about on the box. That is if all goes as planned. New shirts
have been acquired for the Jameson's team (Mickey Price of course
doing all the leg work) and the Jameson's team
will be turning out in Middleborough Red strips.
We did toy with the idea of turning up in the Reading
strip, but to be honest Steve the Boro kit
was easier to get. So Jameson's Casuals Football Team
is the only team I know of who as I write this have a record
of one game played, one game won, and two strips one home, one
away, without having played an away game! Our Brian
has put the work in to get everything fixed up, with some help
from our friend Rick Bryant (of the Von
Trapp Family). Now all you have to do is turn up, play,
cheer, drink, have a good time, and drink some more. Brian
must be informed at least minutes before kick off if you want
a game. The best approved method perfected by Sam Peebles
(Junior) last game is to grab a beer swill half of it down,
shrug at Brian and shout out "Sorry Skipper
made a mistake and had a beer, can't play now". And then
you just get to jeer at everybody else running about in the
sun.

What a great night last Saturday was?
Loads of good company, Football, Rugby and the Olympics to watch
on the telly. Debbie to hand off your vodkas
too. What more can anybody want? Jesters Care4Kids Charity time is almost upon
us again the two main events as if you need reminding are the
fair at The Diana Driving Range and Resort on Sunday
14th September. Jameson's amongst
other things will again be running the Used Book Stall
so now is the time if you live in Pattaya
to look around those old book shelves and those books that you
no longer need bring into Jameson's so Judi
gets a chance to sort them out, and we can put them on our stall.
A great way to make money for the kids. You donate the books,
we sell them, then we give the money to the kids. Easy? But
first we need your books, so come on get looking and bring them
in next time your in town, or in need of a cold beer. You will
be able to find the Jameson's stall easy enough.
We are naturally right next to the beer tent, and in a block
of stalls with Ron's World of Wines Tent, Debbie's
Auction Site Tent. (If you want to have a preview of
what will be on the Auction please look up
the link on the side of the page for the Auction.
Jolly good it is too thanks Ron), Tropical
Bert's, British Legion Tent, and of course Judi
on the Bookstall. See you at the bar,
Kim.

But it is always much more fun to actually come to the Party Night
at Jameson's, and join in with the merry making.
Last year we nearly raised 500,000 Baht with the Auction with
some items being bid off for 500 Baht or even less, whilst others
of more obvious value raised a lot of money, but again there is
something for everybody's pocket. Of course this year we would
like to raise more than last year, and you can see where are all
the much needed donations go by logging onto our weekly updated
website at www.care4kids.info which will keep you up to date with
all things with the Jesters Care4Kids Charity Drive 2008.
Hope to see you all at the Fair at the Diana Driving Range and
Resort on Sunday 14th September, where there will be a stall displaying
all the Auction items, and at the Party Night at Jameson's on
Saturday 20th September to find out who made the winning bids.
Of course I also hope to hear from you in the mean time bidding
from the Auction site.
Cheers,
see you at the Bar Kim
