2009 - 20th September 2009 Updated 24th September 2009
The
Jesters Charity Drive 2009
The
Jesters Charity Drive 2009 is now all over for our
yearly sabbatical, may I take the opportunity of congratulating
everybody involved, from the wonderful Committee
who showed such dedication this year to the very generous people
who donated Auction prizes, Raffle prizes, their time,
MONEY, Books, all the Stall holders at the Fair, the Sisters
for putting up with us, anybody that bought a raffle ticket
(BupaBob who bought so many tickets for Alice
that she actually won two prizes), Paul Jackson
who was not only a great compere on the Party Night,
but also won a Micro Wave Oven which he immediately
donated back (which puts him up their with the very generous
Mark Gorda in my book), the amazing
work of Captain Steve, The Girls on Party Night led by Lynden
and Debbie, The Auctioneers Jeff and Bob, Bernie with his Children's
Raffle, Brian Abbott for being Brian Abbott, David and Ron for
their websites, Richard Waller of World of Wines for as ever
being such a good sport, Mike Axford, Unemployed Steve, and
Peter Makowski for their continued support of the Auction, The
Sun for coming out on Fair Day, The Beer Tent at the Stall for
having Sandilands Cold Beer, Geoff Evans for keeping me amused,
The Mighty Sam Peebles for bringing the whole crew to all the
events, Rich Man Poor Man for keeping us fed at the Fair (Great
Grub). Rob from Fluid Asia for services beyond, Oh
the list is endless. Just let’s say anybody who helped
in anyway. Great year. Now all that's left is to get ready for
next year. I have just walked back from a very nice visit with
Dr. Iain Corness at Bangkok/Pattaya Hospital and
who's Car was outside the Fountain of Life,
none other than Woody's probably planning away.
This weekend is full of amusing events at Jameson's
Friday is razzle night with The Mighty Sam
Peebles showing Kim how to use his
headphones, these are ultra high tech headphones that were last
featured in the latest Star Trek Movie. Saturday night
there will be a small celebration party for customers and staff
alike as it will be just a couple of days before Landlord
Kim goes off to see his Mum in England,
a half wheel of stilton is promised, plus some of Chef
Vinai's splendid Jameson's Pizza's. There is of course
also a full schedule of sport on the big and little screens.
(Please look up our sports schedule for a proper look and to
check the times. Friday even the England Cricket team
gets yet another viewing).
Sunday is of course Iain Corness's Day with the Singapore
Grand Prix taking centre stage on the big screen with
soundtrack in the Jameson's sports room. The
lights go out at 7.00 p.m. So come a little
bit early avail yourself of the world famous Jameson's
Carvery, order up a beer and settle down to watch the
race. Next week Sunday 4th October the Grand Prix is
from Japan and starts at 12 Noon. Carvery will again
be available one hour before race time at 11 o'clock.
Have a nice week everybody, Kim, Rony and Moo.

Kim Fletcher and Jameson's thoughts
turn to the Jesters Care4Kids Charity Drive 2009
The Jesters Care4Kids Charity
Drive is coming up very quickly. Let me just remind you of the
dates for the main events on Sunday 13th September 2009 is the
Jesters Care4Kids Charity Fair at the Diana Driving Range and
Resort, which this year looks like it is going to be even bigger
and better this year than last (if that is possible). Kevin Mitch
once again stepping into the breach, and doing all the organization
in his usual brilliant military precision style. Now whilst talking
about the Fair can I also remind everybody that Jameson's amongst
other things, has a Used Book Stall at the Fair run by Judi McNamara.
The Used Book Stall is always great fun and also raises a nice
lot of money for the kids. It is simple logic. (A) You kindly
donate to us all your old used books, which can be dropped off
at Jameson's or TQ any time, the earlier the better so we can
get them sorted. (B) You come to the Fair, and then buy a lot
of good books at a cheap price, come early for the best selection.
(C) We give all the money we raise to Kevin who hands it on to
the Care4Kids Charity Drive. Easy.
The next event after the Fair is the Jesters Care4Kids Charity
Party Night at Jameson's on Saturday 19th September 2009 which
will feature Paul Jackson as our compeer, Music from Mike Gerrard,
Rick and Harpic Bryant, and to bring us all to a Rockin' close
Pop's Pattaya All Stars and assorted guests. On that night there
will also be the arrival of Eric and Robert from their marathon
Charity Bike Ride always an amazing feat of endurance, the climax
to the Raffle and the fantastic Jesters Care4Kids Charity Auction.
The Auction Site is up and running, with lots of good things up
there already, all you have to do is click on the link on the
left hand side of this page and you will be whisked into Ron Keeley
of World of Wine Auction Site, there is plenty to look at and
you might even fancy putting a bid in yourself. Plenty already
have.
There are plenty of ways of helping the Jesters Care4Kids Charity
Drive 2009, Obviously by coming to the Fair, and the Party Night,
making bids on the Auction Site, buying Raffle Tickets, buying
T-Shirts, taking a Bumper Sticker for your car, taking and reading
one of our brochures and showing them to other people (all available
at Jameson's or TQ). If you would like to know some more right
now please click on the link on the right hand side of the page
for the Jesters Care4Kids and you will go on a journey to see
all about us the website. It is regularly updated and is run by
our Chairman, Lewis (Woody) Underwood, and our Webmaster David
Smith, a very good Charity, run by some wonderful people, to help
those less fortunate than others.
