Diary No. 250 Week of 18th January
2010 - 24th January 2010 Updated 28th January 2010
A Mighty
Fine Week
Saturday
was a great day with the first Jameson's Curry Night Buffet
being put on a choice of 15 different Curries in various
styles including, Indian, English, Kimish, and Thai with Chicken,
Beef, Lamb and Pork Meat Curries, plus various Vegetable Curries,
Prawn and Seafood Curries. Fried and Boiled Rice, Somosas, Poppadoms,
Fantastic Onion Bhajis, Chutneys, all the usual Condiments, Breads,
and of course for Brian Abbott Treacle Pudding. I must
say Vinai's Kitchen really pulled all the stops
out and put on a very good display, and everybody seemed very
impressed. The true try out will be this Saturday
when we get forty or fifty guys in from F.C Nova Football
Team coming in to try the wares, and of course Pattaya's
Number One Gourmet on Curries Mr. Graham MacDonald (The
Font of All Knowledge, because he's from Birmingham).
We will of course also be playing hosts to the Geordie
Crew headed by The Scourge, and Mottman the Magnificent
Seven from Newcastle upon Toon, we have
booked their own table for their six weeks stay in the
Land of Smiles.
This week has also seen the return of Ray Matti (Partyboy),
Sam Peebles, sadly the departure of Jill Peebles
and Terry The Self Appointed General Chef. (I don't mean
he is a General Chef I mean he is a General
(Self Appointed) who also happens to be one of Tynesides
leading Chefs. Aside from being a complete Nutcase!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Young Steve as ever has been bouncing around
and is often ominously in Jamo's in the morning,
along with his own Tonto RayC. Dai and Porn Coe have
been staples of Nova Table, it was good to see
Paul Jackson and briefly Michael Axford.
Saturday is always a good night with the Rugby
Crowd (Jameson's is the Home of the Pattaya
Panthers R.F.C) with Mickey Price, Jimmy Howard,
Des Halls, and Damo.
Great to see Captain Steve ‘Jesters Care4Kids' Ponter
in with Dad Bill. The wonderful Wallers
Maggie and Richard from the even more wonderful World
of Wines who exclusively supply Jameson's
with wine all of who's profit's go to charity, The Portugal
Guys Ali and Richard Greening, Graham and Ung Watkins, Shelley
and Eoin Quike, Pattaya's new Rock 'n’ Roll Star Mr. Simon
'Harmonica Honkin on a Bobo' Quigley, Cricket Geoff, Rugby Tony,
Rock 'n' Roll Ashley, Paul, Dennis and Lek who now have
their own Fish tank in Jameson's. Chicken
Nick, Iain Corness and Family, Paul Strachan, Peter Malhotra and
the Pattaya Mail Crew, The Wednesday Pattaya Hash House Harriers
Crew, Simon and Debbie Philbrook, Stuart Levy (Pattaya's
favorite Football Coach .............Oh of course apart
from Brian Abbott). Phew got a bit carried away
with myself there. Rony has been as usual rushing
around from pillar to post. Pattaya will soon
be called Nova Land.
What goes with Curry Night??? Obvious isn't it Treacle Pudding
Kim looks happy for a change as Dez and Big Dave tuck into the
Curry Night Buffet
Roll on Saturday night with the Jameson's All You Can Eat Curry
Night, which started last week, a choice of 15 different Curries
with all the accompaniments
Big Dave Johnstone gives the Curry Night a good work out and
then gives it two thumbs up
Mickey Price (Mr. T-Shirt) holds court on Saturday night
On
1st February 2010 The Jameson's menu will change again
working in cooperation with Matt and Charlie from Asia/West,
The Weekly Menu of a choice of Three Starters, Three Main
courses, and Three Desserts at 255 Baht for all Three Course will
of course be completely new with new ideas from Dai Coe, Chef
Terry and Des Halls. The New February Menu
will be the same as the January menu but the
three starters that sold the least, the three main course that
sold the least, and a dessert that loses out to be replaced by
new items most of which have been suggested by customers, or are
special deals from Asia/West, or items that come
into season etc., replacing items that are not popular and keeping
the menu constantly fresh. Please look at our Menu page
for all the details.
This weekend there are lots of sports events on F.C Nova
Pattaya are playing again after a weeks break, and the
Premiership Football comes back. Next weekend
Saturday 6th February, sees the Landlord's
top sporting event of the year his sit down time The Six
Nations Rugby Tournament full details for this event
in next week's Dairy. Des Hall’s this week has taken over the
mantle of looking after the Magnificent Seven
led by Mottman Col, and Alan Taylor The Scourge.
But I shall make it my honour bound duty to keep you up to date
with all the goings on from the Likely Lads of Tyneside in the
pages of this weekly diary.
It was great to see Paul Jackson our Jesters Care4Kids
Charity Drive Party Night M.C come down and see us. The
Jesters Care4Kids Party Night this year will be
onSaturday 18th
September 2010 with the first of our auction items going
up now on our Auction site which will be fully
functional by Monday, February 1st. The
Fair this year will obviously still be at the
Diana Driving Range and Resort a week earlier than the
Party Night at Jameson’s on Sunday 12 September
with all the usual fun of the Fair. Jameson’s
of course will be having its normal batch of tents (nicknamed
rather appropriately “Devils Alley”
by Master Chief Kevin Mitch last year) with its
usual mass of seats & tables, a stall for Paul Wilkinson
and Four Winds, Tropical Bert and The British Legion, Deborah
Philbrook in charge of the Auction and Raffle
stalls, naturally the ever lovable Judi McNamara
in charge of our Used Book , C.D, & D.V.D stall with
Geoff & Tan Evans swanning about as if they are in
charge of the drinking team. Lewis (Woody) Underwood &
Captain Steve “Jesters” Ponter will be sitting
down to the first meeting next week. Iris Ritchie is arriving on the 18th
February for a week, so no doubt the conversation around
the table will soon change back to Mal’s favorite
subject “Coronation Street”. I in turn will
try not to talk too much about the dreaded Mafia Wars.
Well on that note I will sign off for now and let Moo
get on with the real work, I do hope you like our new menus and
if you have any suggestions or input into the menu, please let
us know as after all the menu is for you. Have a nice week, Kim,
Rony, & Moo.
