Diary No. 215 Week of 20th April 2009
- 26th April 2009 Updated 30th April 2009
The Chris
Kays Pattaya Rugby Tens 2009 Hove into view
It's that
time of year again folks. The Chris Kays Rugby Pattaya
Tens. Always a great weekend, even if you don't like
Rugby (Is there such a person?) Horseshoe
Point is the place to be this weekend to see some great
Rugby (and some not quite so great Rugby,
but certainly fun Rugby). Horseshoe
Point put on a great show, food, ice cold drinks (especially
beer). Games for the kids (bouncy castle etc.). Not forgetting
all the hard work put in by Jimmy Howard, Eoin Quirke,
and my two best buddies 'The Root of All Evil' Malcolm
Clare and Wayne Organoski 'Blowfly', plus of course
all the good folk from Horseshoe Point led
by Jate, and Ko. Not to forget the generous
sponsorship of Raimonland.
From the
Jameson's point of view, Sir Jimmy Howard
has been kind enough to hold the Welcome and Registration
Party at Jameson's on Friday night. When as well as
the regular Fish 'n' Chips we will also be
putting on the full Jameson's Carvery for those
with a big appetite before the games begin on Saturday
so certainly Jameson's will be the
place to be on Friday night, where you will
be able to met up with all the faces of the Tens.
Then I just have an inkling of a felling that there will be
quite a few people back down the pub on Saturday night
for another crack at the Carvery, and to watch
some Football with The Boro
having the early kick off at 6.45 p.m.
Steve Graham of ESC cause havoc in the Bar as usual, but
is very popular with the Staff. Steve is helped by Captain Steve
Ponter, Terry Schofield of No Fixed Abode, and Landlord Kim
Fletcher
Bjorne
Rob and Wit
Voot from TQ2 and Lady Di, Ian Harrington
Young Steve Pagey and Honest John
Ian, Voot and John. Before the silliness kicked in

For those of a more highbrow
nature The P.I.L.C. will be holding their Pie
and a Pint Trivia Competition at the Bangkok/Pattaya Hospital
on Saturday Night with Jameson's providing
the Pies and the Pints, so sure to be a good
night there too. John Vinyard held court and then smashed the
court up on Saturday night, B52 Bombers flying
everywhere. John had help in the shape of Ian
and Voot. Peter Mack had a simply
brilliant leaving party on Tuesday. Safe journey
home Peter, and a speedy return to Peter's
Arms. The Youth Policy has been on
fine form led from the front as ever by Young Steve
Pagey, Honest John, Ray C, and Dobsy. Geordie
Derek and Makem Paul have gone oop country for a while
Shopkeeper Paul. The Landlord
went out on Sunday up to Horseshoe
Point, and made a fool of himself playing Fast
Cricket (head in the clouds as ever), Softball,
but decided it was time to go and watch the Formula
One with Iain Corness when they brought the Football
out. Don't forget folks Horseshoe Point becomes
a hive of activity with all these sports the last Sunday
of every month, with Rick and Harpic
playing Ringmasters.

Well as I close out the Diary
this week, Chris Kay's Rugby Tournament Fever
is already upon us with The Root of All Evil
working away like a Big Beaver on Steroids, Bruce Birchal
and Entourage have arrive. Oh it is looking like a
marvelous weekend: Friday night at Jamo's for
the Welcoming Party and Registration for all
the teams, a few old friends will be meeting up that night,
Saturday a glorious day at Horseshoe
Point to watch Rugby, talk to friends,
annoy Malcolm and Wayne as they try and keep
everything under control, saunter around with Graham
MacDonald keeping him close as after all he is The
Font of All Knowledge in case anybody asks any questions
I can just differ them to my associate. Saturday night
sees The P.I.L.C. Trivia Night with a theme
of Pub, Pie, and Pint at the Bangkok/Pattaya Hospital
with catering from Jameson's. Saturday
night in Jameson's hopefully a chance
to catch up with everybody, especially Ray and Lynn
Kays, plus a full schedule of the round ball football
to watch with 'The Boro' having the early kick
off at 6.45 p.m. Sunday Morning it's up bright
and breezy to watch the Big Fight between The
'Hitman' and 'Pacman' program starts at 8.00.a.m. But
I would imagine the fight will actual 'Ding' at about
10.00 a.m. Then it's back out to Horseshoe
Point to watch the conclusion of the Rugby.
The Full Schedule for the Saturday's games
are available on this website, and Sunday's games
will be posted as soon as The Root of All Evil and Blowfly
can get them done, and put up in Jameson's.
Then of course Sunday night there is another
full schedule of sports on the multiple Telly's we have in
Jameson's including some more important Premier
League Football Games. When leaves you out of breathe
just thinking about it. Everybody have a great weekend, and
for those of you that are away this weekend I will give as good
a report of proceedings as I can remember.
Here is the full
opening days schedule of Rugby Matches for The Chris Kays Pattaya
Rugby Tens 2009
at Horseshoe Point sponsored by Raimonland.

Which reminds me it must be time for
a visit from Tony and Iris Ritchie, as the
Landlord is out of Berroca's. One
hopes that Col Powell (Mottman) is keeping
his spirits up, now that the NEW Messiah is
not quite what the Doctor ordered, The
Fat Lady is singing so hard I bet poor old Mottman
cannot hear anything else. Hello to Des Hall,
gone but not forgotten, hurry back. All that was missing this
week was David Dobbs, and Geoff Evans, with
perhaps a little smattering of J.K.
Have a good week, Kim, Moo, and Rony.

Kim Fletcher and Jameson's thoughts
turn to the Jesters Care4Kids Charity Drive 2009
The Jesters Care4Kids Charity
Drive is coming up very quickly. Let me just remind you of the
dates for the main events on Sunday 13th September 2009 is the
Jesters Care4Kids Charity Fair at the Diana Driving Range and
Resort, which this year looks like it is going to be even bigger
and better this year than last (if that is possible). Kevin Mitch
once again stepping into the breach, and doing all the organization
in his usual brilliant military precision style. Now whilst talking
about the Fair can I also remind everybody that Jameson's amongst
other things, has a Used Book Stall at the Fair run by Judi McNamara.
The Used Book Stall is always great fun and also raises a nice
lot of money for the kids. It is simple logic. (A) You kindly
donate to us all your old used books, which can be dropped off
at Jameson's or TQ any time, the earlier the better so we can
get them sorted. (B) You come to the Fair, and then buy a lot
of good books at a cheap price, come early for the best selection.
(C) We give all the money we raise to Kevin who hands it on to
the Care4Kids Charity Drive. Easy.
The next event after the Fair is the Jesters Care4Kids Charity
Party Night at Jameson's on Saturday 19th September 2009 which
will feature Paul Jackson as our compeer, Music from Mike Gerrard,
Rick and Harpic Bryant, and to bring us all to a Rockin' close
Pop's Pattaya All Stars and assorted guests. On that night there
will also be the arrival of Eric and Robert from their marathon
Charity Bike Ride always an amazing feat of endurance, the climax
to the Raffle and the fantastic Jesters Care4Kids Charity Auction.
The Auction Site is up and running, with lots of good things up
there already, all you have to do is click on the link on the
left hand side of this page and you will be whisked into Ron Keeley
of World of Wine Auction Site, there is plenty to look at and
you might even fancy putting a bid in yourself. Plenty already
have.
There are plenty of ways of helping the Jesters Care4Kids Charity
Drive 2009, Obviously by coming to the Fair, and the Party Night,
making bids on the Auction Site, buying Raffle Tickets, buying
T-Shirts, taking a Bumper Sticker for your car, taking and reading
one of our brochures and showing them to other people (all available
at Jameson's or TQ). If you would like to know some more right
now please click on the link on the right hand side of the page
for the Jesters Care4Kids and you will go on a journey to see
all about us the website. It is regularly updated and is run by
our Chairman, Lewis (Woody) Underwood, and our Webmaster David
Smith, a very good Charity, run by some wonderful people, to help
those less fortunate than others
