A Fine Weekend
Cor isn't it hot? A fine
weekend in Jameson's, Sam Peebles held court
on Friday, and Graham MacDonald
held court on Saturday, whilst Geoff
Evans (with his mates Jet lagged Jim
and the singing Scaffold) with help from the
wonderful Jon Fox of Q Cars held centre stage
on Sunday night. A lot of people had luckily
escaped to the wonders of The Hong Kong Sevens,
or the Change Mai Sixes, but this in no way
left us short of characters round the bar and tables. Andy
from Misty's put in a historic visit, aided and abetted
by Stephan Hoggi, Paul Wilkinson dropped in
for a quick drink, but was waylaid by the Landlord,
Paul runs the Four Winds removals
company and apart from being very important sponsors of the
Jesters Charity Drive 2008, have a look at how important
they are by having a look at our new updated Auction
site at the side of this page. But also Four
Winds took on the nerve racking job of moving the Fletcher
household from one house to another, a daunting prospect
which they carried out with great aplomb and all the workers
even managed to keep a smile on their face whilst they were
doing it (mind you the big fat Landlord stayed
out the way, so that may have made the job a little more bearable).
But it was all done so quickly and efficiently in a massive
burble of bubble wrap, that before we knew it we had moved.
So the Landlord was more than keen to buy Young
Paul the odd beer by way of thanks, so Paul
be trapped against his will in Jameson's
was not his fault. But I can honestly say if you want anything
moved anywhere just ring Paul at Four
Winds. He can be contacted at 081-9039477.
Young
Paul and Young Steve the Jameson's
youth policy have more than met their match in Steve's
Dad Billy and Lord Tommy, Young Steve is a shadow of
his former self after trying to keep up with his Dad,
whilst Paul was actually seen on his knees
begging for an early night and Lord Tommy what's
he like one minute drinking pints of Stella
and the next drinking straight shots of double Pernod.
Talking of Stella Artois, last week saw another
game of Rick Bryant's rules of Softball
at Horseshoe Point, and marvelous fun it was too, a
few stars were born and some new unfound skills discovered,
Simon Quigley's bowling and prowess with a
bottle of Stella were something to behold,
Eoin Quirke is quite fantastic at batting,
as long as it's just practise the whole thing goes into the
basket when it's the real thing. Graham Watkins
showed his true Welsh competitive spirit by
bringing an element of rugby to the game of softball. The human
pyramid beat all, as soon as I can get a picture of this I will
let you all have look, needless to say Harpic
was at the bottom of all this. The next game of Softball
will be on Sunday 26th April, at Horseshoe Point
with the first ball being hurled down at a good 10 mph at
3.00 p.m. Not to be missed at any cost. Nor are the
Pattaya Tens Chris Kays Memorial Rugby Tournament held
the following weekend also at Horseshoe Point on Saturday
and Sunday 3rd and 4th May.
Long haired Hippie Stan, Bill and Matt the Ex Punk pay us

The old crew back together, The
Mighty Geoff Evans, The Fat Landlord Kim Fletcher, Matt the
Ex Punk, and Hippy Stan Elkin, at Nova Table Jameson's
The Jesters Charity Drive
had another meeting this week, and still everything seems to
be under control. Remember the dates are The Big Fair
at Diana Driving Range and Resort on Sunday 14th September,
followed by The Jesters Party Night at Jameson's on
Saturday 20th September. For more information on what
is going on, or how you can get involved please look up the
links at the sides of this page. Please also remember we are
looking out for all your old books for the used book stall,
Jameson's is a drop off point for all your
old books that you have cluttering up your shelves, and remember
at the fair we turn them into money to give to the kids. Jesters
Care4Kids car stickers and brochures are readily available
at Tahitian Queen and Jameson's, whilst Woody
and Wild Bill have plenty of the new updated flaming
black promotion shirts for sale, we have just reordered, so
all sizes available including the rather flattering lady cut
ones.
This weekend
sees Dr. Iain Corness all a dither again as
another Formula One Grand Prix hoves into view,
please look up our sports schedule in the appropriate area for
a full run down on all the sporting events this weekend, including
the much looked forward to clash between Newcastle and
Reading. Not forgetting the magnificent new giant screen
at Jameson's plus a brand new plasma screen,
put in for your viewing pleasure. Within the next couple of
months all the TV's in Jameson's will be replaced
by something from the 21st century.
It was great to see Stan and Matt the Punk
in Jameson's although I cannot remember anything
about the end of the evening. If Linus or Tony Ritchie
read this will they please send me an e-mail as we appear to
have mislaid their e-mail addresses.
The best news this week though is saved for last. Jameson's
have now got a full time driver so you can drink to your hearts
content now and know that you will be safely driven home by
Tee. Tee used to work for
Rony as his driver so is used to driving Rolls
Royce's and Bentley's etc, but never mind he will still
be prepared to drive your car home for you drop you off leave
you with your car and keys safely deposited at your home whilst
Tee hops on the back of Lurch's
motorbike back to the pub ready to take the next person home.
Tee will also come and pick you up from your
home should you require, how's that for service with a smile.
Enough from me for this week. Have a nice week, Kim,
Rony and Birthday Girl Moo.

Ken has been away in Nigeria for Six weeks and is now on a two
week sabbatical before he goes back there for the long haul
of six months, it may take a few of us to get him on that plane
to go back. It is when you really need someone like Cyclops
around to ensure these nasty little jobs have to be done
Jameson's brilliant new Manageress with

Arthur the world's number one Blackburn
fan receives a fully signed picture of Blackburn Rovers from
the Jameson's staff. To say that Arthur was pleased would be

to hold the Mighty Reading to a scoreless draw the round curly
headed mop top was beside himself
Alan and Patrick enjoy a quiet paras
work drink to calm them selves from the rigours of the day
