Diary No. 229 Week of 27th July 2009
- 2nd August 2009 Updated 6th August 2009
The
Jesters Care4Kids Charity Drive Fair gets closer and closer
Now not
wishing to harp on about it, but the Jesters Care4Kids
Charity Drive 2009 is rushing up upon us a mere five
weeks away. In this time of recession it is the very poor people
who suffer the most, and so we have to try really hard to raise
as much money as possible for the needy. The actual Fair
itself will be held at the Diana Driving Range and Resort
on Sunday, September 13th starting at 10.00 a.m. As
happens every year the Fair will be bigger,
and better in everyway than it was last year. Kevin
Mitch with his trustee Side Kick Wild Bill
are the men doing all the actual hard work. The
Fair is a wonderful day out full of fun, music, games,
or if like me you are that way inclined just a lovely place
to go for a beer. Remember all the beers is donated by our wonderful
sponsors, so every Baht you spend on beer goes
directly to Charity. Jameson's
will be running it's usual Used Book Stall,
and please everybody if you live in the Pattaya
area and have some books to spare that are lying around on your
book shelves please bring them into us so we can get them sorted
and ready for sale. Children's Books, Books in Swedish,
German, French, all are gratefully accepted sold and
all the proceeds go to Charity. DVD's
and CD's are also willingly added into our sales. Drop
off points are in Pattaya at Tropical Bert's, Tahitian
Queen, The Pattaya Mail Office, and of course
Jameson's. In Bangkok they can be
dropped off at Jameson's Bangkok with Tim, or Jools
in Sukhumvit Soi 4 with Peter and Matt. Your
Used Books etc go to a long way to putting food into
the mouths of the little ones. This year we also have 6
Computers for sale, which are on display in Jameson's
so you can give them a try before purchasing, but they are all
in great condition and ready to go, with all the latest uploads
installed.
At this year's Jesters Care4Kids Charity Drive Fair 2009
at the Diana Driving Range and Resort on Sunday 13th September
from 10.00 a.m. onwards, are not one not two, BUT Three Superstars
on the Main Stage. These Artists have been kindly sponsored
by Grammy TV. The Jesters Care4Kids Charity Drive Fair just
gets better and better.
There are plenty of ways
of supporting the Jesters Care4Kids Charity Drive,
you can come into Jameson's and pick up some
stickers or brochures to hand round, you can buy tickets for
our Grand Raffle with the First Prize of a Motorbike
on display in Jameson's. There are also some
very cool Wristbands and T-Shirts on sale to
promote the event. Every little bit helps, and lots of little
bits helping, makes light work.
Of course after the Fair, we have the final
event of the year the Party Night held at good
old Jameson's on Saturday 19th September, starting at
6.30 p.m. where we have all the fun of Bob
and Jeff auctioning off all the fun items that we have
for Auction. All of which are now on display
on our website organized by Ron Keeley, which
you can log onto with one deft click on the flashing logo on
the side of this page. The Auction site is
pretty full now, and there are items on there for every taste,
in particular am eyeing up the nice side table donated by Peter,
and the Chickenfoot signed CD signed by the
bad donated by Mawkowski. Have a look even
if you do not feel like bidding on anything, it's fun just to
have a look. Bids are now being taken on these
items. Of course the Grand Raffle is also drawn
that night. The greatest way of sponsoring the Jesters
Care4Kids Charity Drive 2009 is to actually come to
one of these events. The Jesters Care4Kids Charity Committee
will be meeting on every Wednesday between
now and then, so if you would like any extra information, or
would like to book a stall that is the best way to do it. Just
come along and meet everybody at Jameson's.
Bob Davis is in there somewhere, but the Jameson's super
sleuth is often hard to find
Very Nice to have Ken Sly back in the Pub with wonderful
tales of his life in Africa, also nice to have Ian of Harrington

The man with many Bob nicknames has made himself
indispensable to the area around Nova Table,
and has been incredibly generous to the Jesters Care4Kids
Charity Drive, Bob is not a man to
be found without a Jesters T-Shirt or Wristband.
Paul Strachan of course comes into his own
when charity time comes round. There are also rumours of arrivals
of both Partyboy Ray Matti, and The Root of All Evil
Malcolm Clare, may soon be making visits' to Jameson's.
Don't say I didn't warn you.
Looking to the future plenty of things going on at Jameson's.
Friday will be a new first for Jameson's
as we will be doing an Oyster Buffet, a whole
bunch of fresh Oysters laid out on the
Carvery for your appetite. We will lay them all out
fresh with some Onion fried bits, Bacon bits, Chilli
Sauce, Tabasco and Lemon, but we will also be cooking
them to order for anybodies specifications. So next
Friday is Oyster Night at Jameson's.
Keep an eye on our sports schedule from week to week. Can anybody
tell me who Trott is? Enough from me. Have
a good week Rony, Kim and Moo.
Here is the longest
piece I think Paul Strachan has done for PMTV.
In a rambling plot we get a conversation around Nova Table and
some fun with
the Pattaya Players Theatre Company. Anyway here it is for your
critic

South Africa vs. Australia. I know there is travel constraints
and everything BUT surely South Africa must be at a slight disadvantage,
as they have just finished playing a heavy series against the
British and Irish Lions, then this is their third game in a
row in the Tri-Nations I know Rugby is a tough game But................
Landlord Kim Fletcher decides to take Tuesday night off, and
where does he end up till midnight at Nova Table that's where.
With Bupa Bob, Captain of Football Brian Abbott, and David Dobbs.
Pagey was around somewhere
Steve is all smiles
Derek Hunter kindly brings in a wonderful Hamper for the Jesters
Care4Kids Charity Drive Auction, which will be held at Jameson's
on Saturday 19th September 2009 on the Jesters Care4Kids Party
Night
David Dobbs immediately makes off with the Hamper
Wednesday night sees the return of The Root of All Evil, Malcolm
Clare. Here we see him doing his warm up laps. I'm sure that
the real Root of All Evil will come out on Saturday night once
the Rugby game between South Africa and Australia kicks off.
The Root is seen here with his gang the lovely Ning, Captain
Steve (Jesters Care4Kids) Ponter, and Kim
Bob getting way to close to the camera with J.J and Guitar
Gethen in a Pattaya Tens T-shirts from the good old days. Ring

Kim Fletcher and Jameson's thoughts
turn to the Jesters Care4Kids Charity Drive 2009
The Jesters Care4Kids Charity
Drive is coming up very quickly. Let me just remind you of the
dates for the main events on Sunday 13th September 2009 is the
Jesters Care4Kids Charity Fair at the Diana Driving Range and
Resort, which this year looks like it is going to be even bigger
and better this year than last (if that is possible). Kevin Mitch
once again stepping into the breach, and doing all the organization
in his usual brilliant military precision style. Now whilst talking
about the Fair can I also remind everybody that Jameson's amongst
other things, has a Used Book Stall at the Fair run by Judi McNamara.
The Used Book Stall is always great fun and also raises a nice
lot of money for the kids. It is simple logic. (A) You kindly
donate to us all your old used books, which can be dropped off
at Jameson's or TQ any time, the earlier the better so we can
get them sorted. (B) You come to the Fair, and then buy a lot
of good books at a cheap price, come early for the best selection.
(C) We give all the money we raise to Kevin who hands it on to
the Care4Kids Charity Drive. Easy.
The next event after the Fair is the Jesters Care4Kids Charity
Party Night at Jameson's on Saturday 19th September 2009 which
will feature Paul Jackson as our compeer, Music from Mike Gerrard,
Rick and Harpic Bryant, and to bring us all to a Rockin' close
Pop's Pattaya All Stars and assorted guests. On that night there
will also be the arrival of Eric and Robert from their marathon
Charity Bike Ride always an amazing feat of endurance, the climax
to the Raffle and the fantastic Jesters Care4Kids Charity Auction.
The Auction Site is up and running, with lots of good things up
there already, all you have to do is click on the link on the
left hand side of this page and you will be whisked into Ron Keeley
of World of Wine Auction Site, there is plenty to look at and
you might even fancy putting a bid in yourself. Plenty already
have.
There are plenty of ways of helping the Jesters Care4Kids Charity
Drive 2009, Obviously by coming to the Fair, and the Party Night,
making bids on the Auction Site, buying Raffle Tickets, buying
T-Shirts, taking a Bumper Sticker for your car, taking and reading
one of our brochures and showing them to other people (all available
at Jameson's or TQ). If you would like to know some more right
now please click on the link on the right hand side of the page
for the Jesters Care4Kids and you will go on a journey to see
all about us the website. It is regularly updated and is run by
our Chairman, Lewis (Woody) Underwood, and our Webmaster David
Smith, a very good Charity, run by some wonderful people, to help
those less fortunate than others.
