Diary No. 234 Week of 31st August
2009 - 6th September 2009 Updated 10th September 2009
This
weekend The Jesters Care4Kids Charity Fair
This weekend
is the big one folks. Not only is it Brian Abbott's
Birthday on Saturday, but Sunday sees The Jesters
Care4Kids Charity Drive 2009 Fair at the Diana Driving Range
and Resort. That's Sunday the 13th September 2009 starting at
10.00 a.m. It really is the best day out in Pattaya
all year. There are more stalls and star attractions this year
then ever. As you can see from all the posters on this page
there really are loads of things to do, watch, buy, drink, eat,
etc all day long. Captain Steve Ponter will
again miraculously turn into Rock Concert Promoter
for the day and be leading around all the Grammy T.V
acts (look at the picture on this page). So be prepared
to witness some crowd hysteria down the front again this year
(really must try and get someone to calm Moo
down this year after the excitement of B.O.Y. last year.
For us slightly more sedate folk there are plenty of beer tents
to relax in whilst the family go out browsing etc. Of course
Jameson's will be having it's own tent as usual.
This year we are bringing a load of tables and chairs to sit
on and put the beer on to create more of a festival atmosphere.
There is of course also Pop's Cool Zone run by Pop himself
with Rick and Harpic Bryant a good place to stop off
and have a beer and a natter whilst listening to some sweet
sweet music. The Jameson's Tent will consist
of plenty of tables and chairs which will be staffed in cooperation
with Fluid Asia and Heinekenalong
with Moo and all the Jameson Staff (both present staff, and
some familiar returning faces) along with The British Legion
Tent, Ron Keeley's World of Wine Tent, I expect Darren
from the Lazi Pig will be there, some Pattaya
Panthers, Debbie Philbrook, running both the
Raffle Stall and the Auction Stall (the on line
Auction site is up and running and has had many new
items added in the last week, plus of course many new bids all
organized by Ron Keeley of World of Wines.
Please click on the flashing sign on the left hand side of this
page for a better look. It is certainly the most impressive
Auction site we have ever had). Of course the
Jameson's Tent is also centred around Judi
McNamara's Book Stall. We now have a Fair selection
of books for your perusal, my heartfelt Thanks go out
to everybody who has helped us with the books, especially Simon
Quigley and Mark Gorda. But if anybody has anymore
books they would be gratefully received, any time even on the
day. We also have many Special Guests at the Fair Dr.
Iain Corness will be there. After the Launch
of his Book Farang 'The Sequel' at Jameson's last Thursday,
Iain will also be selling and signing copies
of his book at the Jameson's Stall, there is
also promised a magical appearance by The One and Only
Geoff Evans, Brian Abbott will be there ...............
Well maybe if he survives his Birthday! As
for BupaBob, only time will tell! Fourwinds
will be there in force in the shape of Paul Wilkinson,
Thank you Paul.
The
Mighty Sam Peebles will be around of course, along
with the Jameson's Youth Policy, and sundry
assorted guests, so make a point of dropping by and saying hello
to us in the Jameson's Tent. The Fair
is a wonderful event. If you are in Pattaya,
please do not miss it. It's been another amazing week at Jameson's,
with the regular Wednesday Buzz game claiming
more victims again, Bjorn's Birthday, a wonderful
game of Rugby on Saturday, an amazing Sam Peebles led
Friday night. All good stuff.

Just
a quick Thank you to all the people who have made the whole Jesters
Fair and Charity Drive happen, that goes right from Captain
Steve (Care4Kids) Ponter to anybody who has just taken
the time to read our posters etc. Without everybody it wouldn't
be possible. Captain Steve and I were on the radio on Friday
with Johnny Diamond what a nice bloke he is too. Carefully
walking us two duffers through it all a very enjoyable for Steve
and myself, pretty ordinary for those of you listening
I would of thought. Now if we can all get through our spots with
Paul Strachan the world can return to normal. The Jesters Care4Kids Stall Holders Meeting was
held on Monday night which always reminds everybody
just how close the Fair actually is. It's this
Sunday 13th September at The Diana Driving Range and Resort
starting at 10.00 o'clock! Be sure to visit the
Jameson's Judi McNamara Beer Garden whilst you are there. The Landlord is also looking forward to the
end of September as he is off to England
to go and see his Mum in England. Nothing beats
your Mum's cooking. Not forgetting that my
Mum's Pub The Market House was a regular feature in the
Egon Ronay Good Food Guide. Real Pork Pies.
The much anticipated Mott The Hoople shows have
now got completely out of hand. Firstly it was a surprise they
reformed anyway. Then there was two gigs at the Hammersmith
Odeon, then there was Three, then Five, now there's
SEVEN, plus in-between gigs by Morgan Fisher,
Mick Bolton, and Blue Weaver, and on the Sunday Tracie Hunter
is up. Of course Mottman is going to them all,
but the Landlord will have to be satisfied with
Three Shows. Just hoping for a guest appearance
from the Lovable Ariel Bender. Watch out London
Mott he Dog is comin'.

The Jesters Care4Kids Stall Holders Meeting was held in Jameson's

was great fun. Oh we are all old hands at this lark. The signs
are up and Kevin and Wild Bill get ready
Lynden finds it all fun

turn to the Jesters Care4Kids Charity Drive 2009
The Jesters Care4Kids Charity
Drive is coming up very quickly. Let me just remind you of the
dates for the main events on Sunday 13th September 2009 is the
Jesters Care4Kids Charity Fair at the Diana Driving Range and
Resort, which this year looks like it is going to be even bigger
and better this year than last (if that is possible). Kevin Mitch
once again stepping into the breach, and doing all the organization
in his usual brilliant military precision style. Now whilst talking
about the Fair can I also remind everybody that Jameson's amongst
other things, has a Used Book Stall at the Fair run by Judi McNamara.
The Used Book Stall is always great fun and also raises a nice
lot of money for the kids. It is simple logic. (A) You kindly
donate to us all your old used books, which can be dropped off
at Jameson's or TQ any time, the earlier the better so we can
get them sorted. (B) You come to the Fair, and then buy a lot
of good books at a cheap price, come early for the best selection.
(C) We give all the money we raise to Kevin who hands it on to
the Care4Kids Charity Drive. Easy.
The next event after the Fair is the Jesters Care4Kids Charity
Party Night at Jameson's on Saturday 19th September 2009 which
will feature Paul Jackson as our compeer, Music from Mike Gerrard,
Rick and Harpic Bryant, and to bring us all to a Rockin' close
Pop's Pattaya All Stars and assorted guests. On that night there
will also be the arrival of Eric and Robert from their marathon
Charity Bike Ride always an amazing feat of endurance, the climax
to the Raffle and the fantastic Jesters Care4Kids Charity Auction.
The Auction Site is up and running, with lots of good things up
there already, all you have to do is click on the link on the
left hand side of this page and you will be whisked into Ron Keeley
of World of Wine Auction Site, there is plenty to look at and
you might even fancy putting a bid in yourself. Plenty already
have.
There are plenty of ways of helping the Jesters Care4Kids Charity
Drive 2009, Obviously by coming to the Fair, and the Party Night,
making bids on the Auction Site, buying Raffle Tickets, buying
T-Shirts, taking a Bumper Sticker for your car, taking and reading
one of our brochures and showing them to other people (all available
at Jameson's or TQ). If you would like to know some more right
now please click on the link on the right hand side of the page
for the Jesters Care4Kids and you will go on a journey to see
all about us the website. It is regularly updated and is run by
our Chairman, Lewis (Woody) Underwood, and our Webmaster David
Smith, a very good Charity, run by some wonderful people, to help
those less fortunate than others.
