Rock, Magic, and Rugby.

What a weekend we have coming up for you Ladies and Gentlemen. Saturday will see the start of the Tri-Nations Rugby Tournament which promises to be a cracker this year in the lead up to the World Cup later this year. Proceedings are kicked off with the game between South Africa and Australia at 7.00 p.m. Before this as a warm up if you like is a game between Canada and New Zealand at 2.00 p.m. Check our sports schedule full a full report of all sport on the telly this week.

Sid Silk with his Wednesday meeting of the Stephen Leather Fan Club

Mike Watkins arrives back with Steve & Nicola (his daughter and son in Law) who are on honeymoon and Nigel who is not

Stephan Ryser a character from Stephen Leather book the Stretch holds court at Nova Table

Paul, you should know that drinking is not a laughing matter but should be taken very seriously

Joy points out to Paul how he should take his drinking very seriously

The wonderful Traylings Mam and Ed having just returned from holiday baring gifts for the Landlord of a Jameson's jug much appreciated and nice to have the pair of you back

Then on Sunday we have an all day Extravaganza. This has been put into motion by the one and only Rick Bryant (and supporting cast).
Now what have we got in stall for you firstly Happy Hour will run all day from 2.00 p.m. until 11.00 p.m. That is Heineken and Tiger beer at 45 baht a half and an incredible 80 baht a pint, in itself that should be enough reason to storm the doors of good old Jameson's. But to add to that in the library area will be a special kids buffet with fizzy pop drinks such as Coca-Cola and Sprite all free for the kids, with colouring games loads of toys, colouring games and cartoons for the kids. Supervised by the wonderful Lola who will take care of the kids all day (lucky Lola!) Then at 3.30 and 4.30 (times aprox), there will be Magic Shows by the amazing Dr. Magic and son, this not only amuses the children but astounds the befuddled adults. Then the main feature of the day is acoustic music from Pop and the Pattaya All Stars this not only includes Pop and his band but many of Pop's musical friends from around Pattaya including a performance from Rick and Harpic themselves. This is not a musical event to miss. So come early to get a good seat enjoy the music and the magic, do not forget that the Carvery is only 350 baht for all you can eat so you arrive at 2.00 p.m. and you can still be eating at 11.00 p.m. and with Happy Hour lasting all day had can you not miss out on all the fun.
After that on Sunday there is the Canadian Grand Prix at midnight which will be supervised over by Iain Corness in his usual jovial style. See you at the bar, Kim.

Mike Franklin prepares for more sign ups for the Pattaya Mail Mike Franklin Charity Golf Tournament which will be held on Friday 29th June. There will be the next sign up session for the tournament on Saturday 16th June between 2.00 p.m. and 6.00 p.m. Remember to sign up as soon as you can to avoid disappointment. Read the rest of the details on this page or go to the link to the tournaments website

The Jameson's front row led by The Root of All Evil Malcolm Clare supported by Farmer Phil and Landlord Kim Fetcher sample a little port to make the evening a little more comfortable

Lurch our Bartender lets it be known which Premiership team he will be supporting this season, probably due to him having to choose a team after there was a half hour special on Good Guy Steve on the T.V this week enough to make any man resign from the Reading Football Club Supporters society North and South Divisions

Civilisation on Nova Table with Terry Schofield of North Shore Real Estate Mark Stubbs The Jameson's Computer expert and Roving Ambassador, Andy McTighe (The girls Lindsay and Kimberly must of been off playing pool), Malcolm Clare The Root of All Evil and Landlord Kim Fletcher

Nova Table bursting at the seams mainly due to an influx of Bryant mania, any way in no particular order Daniel. Daniel, Chris, Jake, Andy McTighe, Rick Bryant, Landlord Kim Fletcher, Mark Stubbs, and Big Dave Hoyle made to look small by the number of people round him. Actually it could be a shot from "Return of The Jedi" aboard Jabba the Hut's Ship!

The diary pictures have many shortcomings this week including no pictures of Kim and Lindsay McTighe, and Debbie Lightley, Shelley Quirke or any other pretty girls who have been in the bar something that will be rectified this week. It is also a very long time since there has been no photo of The Font of All Knowledge, Graham MacDonald, our Executive Junior, Deputy, Assistant Trainee, Manager Ian (Lady Di) Harrington, or Simon Philbrook this is perhaps not such a bad idea.

Ah sometimes how nice it is to reach Sunday Johnnie Live conducting business on the phone from Nova Table. While Landlord Kim Fletcher tries out the Rose wine from the wonderful World of Wines. "World of Wines" supply wonderful wines, but in the words of Debbie Lightley sometimes they are too nice. The Landlord was merely trying out the suitability of the World of Wines wine for this Sunday's up coming bash and by the third bottle he was positive they were up for the job trouble is by the fourth bottle. The wine is definitely too nice. Malcolm Clare The Root of All Evil looks on with what can only be called admiration

To prove how good World of Wine wine is there goes the 5th bottle

Jimmy and Johnny

Big Dave Hoyle also known as Jabba the Hut tucks in and approves of the Jameson's Steak Sandwich. The fancy napkin is optional in most cases but in Dave's case a necessity

And down the smart end of the bar are Chicken Nick and a very well turned out Jimmy (Mike)

GOLF NEWS

Dear Golfers,

Another week has passed and more sponsors have joined to support Pattaya Mail’s inaugural tournament. I am keen to complete the field and do hope that the locally organized Groups and Venues will be represented in this charity golf tournament to mark the Pattaya Mail’s 15th Anniversary
Page 7 of the current issue of Pattaya Mail features the latest sponsors to come on board, with many that are new to supporting charity golf on the Eastern Seaboard.
There are only 2 holes still available for sponsorship at 10,000 baht, the latest sponsor being Raimon Land, adding to their support as a Gold sponsor.
The tournament details and entry form are attached, but to help you sign-up or confirm your booking, I will be at Jameson’s this Friday 8th June to take entries between 5pm and 8pm, or later.
Join me there for a snack and a beer, get the latest reports in Pattaya Mail, and hear more about the Awards Party program at the Pinnacle Grand Jomtien Resort after the tournament on June 29th.
Many thanks & regards,

Mike Franklin

Friday 29th June 2007 at Eastern Star

Organized by Pattaya Mail Media Group, Pinnacle Jomtien Resort & Spa & Eastern Star Golf Club

Pattaya Mail is nearing its 15th Anniversary and, after many years of widely reporting local golf tournaments, is confirming its commitment to golf by announcing the inaugural Pattaya Mail ‘Mike Franklin’ Classic charity golf tournament to be staged at Eastern Star Country Club & Resort, on Friday 29th June 2007.

The proceeds raised will be shared by six beneficiaries:
Rotary Foundation’s work with children
Jesters ‘Care for Kids’ Water Purification project
Scholarships to Pattaya Schools via Diana Group Foundation
Ban Dorntupab Pattana Primary School
Pattaya Young PR Ambassador Program
Camillian Aids center – Cindy Burbridge project

The proceeds as they are committed and spent on the six beneficiary projects will be reported in Pattaya Mail, and on Pattaya Mail TV.

The tournament will receive extensive Press & TV media coverage in Pattaya Mail, Pattaya Blatt, & Chiangmai Mail; on Sophon cable and the Pattaya Mail Television (PMTV) cable network covering Chonburi, Pattaya, Jomtien & Sattahip. The POV Media Group, Bangkok, is providing 150 framed A3 poster display sites in prime Bangkok locations, and press conferences are scheduled for Thursday June 7th at the Chaophya Park Hotel, Bangkok, and at the Pinnacle Jomtien Resort & Spa on Thursday June 14th.
The Tournament and Award ceremony will be covered by Pattaya Mail Television and a DVD of the televised feature will be given to the sponsors.

The golf tournament will feature two shotgun starts at 06.45am and 12.30pm, playing a Four-ball Team Scramble format. Both shotgun starts will be limited to 25 teams of 4 players. Tournament scoring will be by ‘System 36’ that calculates team handicaps on the day, based on performance.
As individual player handicaps are not a requirement for entry, the tournament is open to all golfers. Entry is 10,000 baht/Team or 2,500 individual
There will be performance trophies for the winning teams, and technical prizes to be won on every hole. A perpetual trophy will be kept at Pattaya Mail and inscribed with the names of the Champion team. The Award ceremony, BBQ buffet dinner & entertainment will take place at sunset by the beach at the Pinnacle Jomtien Resort & Spa.
