Kim Fletcher's famous weekly pub diaries at Jameson's started with the first publication Wednesday, January 26th, 2005.  Each Thursday night, local time, a new diary will be uploaded for your viewing pleasure.

Diary No. 111 Week of 5th March 2007 - 11th March 2007 Updated 15th March 2007

Please send the weekly Pub Diary as a PDF doc to this e-mail address:

St. Patrick's Day is here again, as you get older and older have you noticed that the years just seems to whiz round with a dash of Auld and Singe, Whiskey in The Jar, Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas, and that's your lot, and every year it gets quicker and quicker. It has already become just a blur to Lady Di and Landlord Kim Fletcher.

This St. Patrick's Day will be a very sporting one as it coincides with the final day of the Rugby Six Nations, and all is to play for. Especially as the Panthers Sweepstake comes to its conclusion Shelley Quirke has done a marvelous job of organizing all this, and a real roller coaster ride it has been especially for some of us. Graham 'Superman' Watkins, and Kim 'The Landlord' Fletcher are at the moment grappling for the wooden spoon the full results will be revealed next week. The Cricket World Cup has also started giving us many late nights plus of course there is a full schedule of football games, and on Sunday at the unearthly hour of 10 o'clock in the morning is the Australian Formula One Grand Prix, with Pattaya's leading Racing Correspondent Dr. Iain Corness taking centre stage in the sports room with his gang. Please look at our sports schedule for all the relevant times and dates.

A truly wonderful weekend of fun at Jameson's last weekend saw many people clustered around the bar, in the sports room avidly watching the sport or taking over the library area. Mike Watkins rallied the Welsh for the big push against Italy alas to little avail, but they took the defeat with great grace considering the behavior of the English referee. Helping the Landlord run the bar this week has been Mr. Ian (Lady Di) Harrington. Jameson's new roving Ambassador Mark Stubbs, (as well as our computer wizard) Jameson's answer to Harry Potter, Alex, Andy McTighe, (and a very Happy Birthday to you Andy). Class of 56 very special mates. Terry Schofield of North Shore Real Estate, and his trustee sidekick Ben, The Bryant's of course paid several visits with friends Jan and Phil and we all got involved in a rather ambitious game of spoof. So we had Rick, Harpic, Jake (who scored four goals for the Pattaya Football Club Steve keep an eye out for this lad could be a big help to you next season if you manage to scrape enough points together to stay in the Premiership. But do not forget my agents fee).

Graham MacDonald The Font of All Knowledge's Quiz on Saturday night went down very well, and was one by a group of French lads, which was by one of some sort of compensation for Sunday night and for sure the competition will be repeated again next Saturday. J.K whizzed in and out of town, nice to see Rich Wibrow in one piece and gallantly going to the gym every day. Ray Matti and Curly Wurly have headed off to the Islands to get some form of training in ready for the Chang Mai Sixes at the end of the month. Jason, Nui and Leo Payne have been whizzing in and out as have the Franklin's. Sid Silk has kept us all amused with the most outrageous jokes Tony who is really enjoying the new wines from Richard and Busters World of Wines. We have now got some auction items in for the Jesters Pub Night at Jameson's this year. We now have the actual suit that was worn by Roger Jenkins when he won the World Power Boat Racing championships. But I will get a full list of everything we have so far after the next Jesters meeting this month and publish them weekly on the website.

Kim and Andy sit underneath the Japanese lucky house card sent to Jameson's from Tomita

Graham (Superman) Watkins with Eoin and Shelley Quirke. Graham is just Superman whilst Eoin is The Pattaya Panthers Rugby Captain and the lovely Shelley has organized this year’s rugby sweep stake which has been great fun although Superman and The Landlord are bringing up the rear at the moment. The Landlord having the French to win again by fifty points did not help his cause much!

Stuart Young tries to slip having his photo taken and fails

Mike Watkins has been more than generous this year with rooting out some splendid items for us to auction off for the Care 4 Kids Charity. Steve Ponter has put his head around the corner on more than one occasion, whilst Simon and his lovely fiancé Debbie were the stars of the show on Saturday. Simon Edmonds of course sat to the side of Nova Table sitting with his slippers and pipe sulking due to the lack of Cranberry juice. Johnnie Live has been leaping from table to bar, to the pool table and back. Great to see Mosquito Bill this weekend. Paul Jackson stepped through the door like a surprise guest at a birthday party, Motor Bike Shaun and Big Shaun were in to belt a few back on Sunday, as was Andrew Watts. Up at the bar and probably keeping it stable were Graham, Peter, Nick, Joules the Geordie Boys, Chris, Darren, and Jimmy, Dennis and Lek, Rob and Wit, Paul and Joy. Peter the Furniture maker.
Seen creating Nova Table two on several occasions were Paul Baker, Graham and Ung Watkins with help from Eoin and Shelley Quirke.

The Irish were out in support for the rugby last week and of course this week it is crucial

Iain Corness and the Monday Car Club all gather round for natterin' and a noggin' or two
Nice to see Ron Amero with his Mum in for dinner with Randy and Mountain. Also good to see Amorn Malhotra looking very fit and healthy having a long dinner. Khun Tira also honored us with a visit on Monday. Keeping Khun Tira away from a good Steak is always a problem!!!!!!!!! Rony Fineman came and had dinner on Tuesday night and loved the Tuesday Poached Chicken as did Nick. It is always nice to have P.J's smiling face sitting at the end of the bar. Aussie Darren and a few of us watched Australia make very hard work of the Scotland game. Whilst it was great to get amusing texts from Scud, Jeremy Quinn, Ron Keeley (I Miss You), Ian Dickson, (well funny if you are Australian).
Next week's website will be a real ripper so do not miss it for reason's I cannot say now (secrets you know). Nice to speak to Malcolm Clare on the phone, The Root of All Evil will be arriving next week, so do not say you have not been warned. If Kimo Price got my text message will he please let me know? I has not gone unnoticed that since Wales have had a bit of a dip in form there have not been so many text messages or e-mails from a certain Dai Coe.
Well that's it for me this week, Kim.

The Pattaya Hash House Harriers enjoy the On-In at Jameson's on Monday

Dear Sir or Madam,
Further to our letter we sent earlier this year we would like to thank you again for your support last year that allowed us to distribute over 6 million baht to needy children’s charities on the Eastern Seaboard and the tsunami-ravaged south. Our efforts are already underway for this year’s Jesters Care for Kids Charity Drive 2007 and once again we would like to ask for your help.
The response so far has been wonderful with a result of a Diamond Sponsor and 12 Platinums to date, as well as 2 Golds, 4 Silvers and 6 Bronzes and 7 Pledgers. This is a great start and we would like to thank those who have already stepped forward allowing us to provide funds and supplies to our ongoing projects.
This year we will maintain assistance to many of our ongoing beneficiaries as well as bring on borard some new ones, specifically a number of schools in Rayong Province.
Other projects we are also committed again to so far in the New Year:
Ban Jing Jai in Nong Prue, an orphanage for 44 kids, which needs additonal renovation (recently completed)
Pattaya Redemptorist School for the Blind in Naklua needs the construction and furnishing of an audible library
Next Step Program, which supplies scholarships for children and young adults in Chonburi Province, including a candidate, Em, who will graduate this year with a university engineering degree in Bangkok
Rayong Training Center for wayward children and teens; continued maintenance of organic gardening project
Khao Bai Sri School in Sattahip for autistic and handicapped children requires ongoing renovation and maintenance.
Happiness Camps, alternative learning/teaching methods for govt school students and teachers
Fountain of Life Center for Children in North Pattaya, our target charity, which provides identities, medical care, nutritious meals, day care and ultimately scholarships for the education of slum children
Projects in the south, providing school lunches on Phi Phi Island and 5-year scholarship for a 9-year old in Krabi.
This year, our annual family outing, the Jesters Children’s Fair will be held on Sunday, September 9th, at Diana Garden Resort and Driving Range while our Jesters Charity Night will be on the following Saturday, September 15th, at Jameson’s Irish Pub.
