Another week of fun and high jinx at Nova Table in Jameson's pub. The Salsa Dance night on Friday was an outrageous success. David and Sylvia did their usual inspired job as Fashion Directors, making life so easy on the rest of us. Nick and Sam were the dancers and teachers in equal proportions. Their dance costumes were quite something to see in themselves. Graham Moore looked on proudly as his beautiful wife danced, before he himself was dragged onto the dance floor, along may I say with many more. Ray Matti can be quite clearly seen dancing in the front line, Jason Payne was dancing like a goody until he saw that the television cameras were quite literally in his face, when a quick retreat was the order of the day. Johnnie Live danced his little heart out, but I think at the end of the day he had better stay with coloring and cutting hair. David's own account of the Fashion nights in conjunction with Sue Malhotra of the Pattaya Mail, has been left to start off this column. But I am delighted to tell you that this will actually be a Fashion Show the first we have really had in our Fashion Month, with lots of top Thai, Asian, and Farang models showing off the clothes it should be a very interesting evening. Of course the week following will be the last in our Fashion month before we move into December with Christmas and all that entails Christmas. The last show will be a lingerie and tease show. This event takes place on Friday 24th November please put a note in your social calendar for that night.

This week is also Thanksgiving (lots of Turkey, Mashed Potato, and Pumpkin Pie). The full menu appears on this page, along with this years Christmas menu, don't forget that Jameson's rules apply as ever as long as the parents are tucking in, the Carvery is free for the kids. Thanksgiving is always on the fourth Thursday of the month which caused an awful lot of confusion to the Landlord, but Woody soon clarified the situation. Woody and the Jesters also threw a fantastic 10th Year Anniversary part last weekend.
More birthdays this week for George, Jo, and Jenny the lovely wife of Geordie Chris. Possibly having left by the time this diary is published will be Faulty Paul, Peter, and Romantic Jim, whether they actually get on the airplane or not is anyone's guess. Sadly Geoff Evans and entourage have also high tailed it off always nice to see you Geoff hurry back home. Rich Wibrow has taken up the party trail again since Ray Matti has gone off to play in the Hong Kong Cricket Sixes with Dav Whatmore in tow. Will Dai Coe, please contact me as soon as possible. Nice also to hear from Scud, Cyclops, and Ian Dickson, contact with Ian is becoming more often the closer the Ashes become. Our Junior Trainee, Assistant, Deputy, Novice, Manager Lady Di (Ian Harrington) has once again shone out on the field of the pub battlefield, once again ably assisted by his trustee sidekick Mark Stubbs. Seen fleeing the dance floor on Friday night were Sean and Matt the Wig.

Nick & Sam

Seen doing flaming statue of liberties around Nova Table once again were all the Bryant's, Rick, Harpic, Jake, Paige, and Abby, the welcome return of George with Melinda, Graham MacDonald, Simon Philbrook, and his lovely Fiancé Debbie, David Garred, Kevin Fisher, Malcolm and Christina Bowden, Mike back for a week, but to return permanently next month, Graham and Ung Watkins, Welsh Graham, Mike Watkins, and all other Welsh people leaping out from everywhere to enjoy their rugby victory last week. The Ireland vs. South Africa game was an absolute cracker. Will England ever play again. Moose was in on Saturday night and it was nice to catch up on old times. Making life much more bearable for the English on Saturday was the arrival back of Mick and Elly Devonport. Mick is one of Britain's finest guitarists and general all round nice guy. Mick and Elly come from Liverpool and Elly had to give up the name Elaine Rigby to marry Mick. Needless to say we arranged a musical night out where Mick was lined up to play with Pop's Pattaya All Stars up at Easy Rider, with Rick Bryant supplying the six string hardware for Mick. When we arrived Pop's band were breaking into a medley of Uriah Heep and Deep Purple songs, ‘July Morning’, ‘Easy Livin’, ‘Gypsy’, ‘Perfect Strangers’, ‘Black Night’ and a smokin version of ‘Burn’ these songs were played with the panache of the originals. Next up came Mick Devonport playing with the band, after first of all dropping Rick's prized Jackson guitar, after the strap failed and then working out all the pedals, it was hammer down time as Mick led the band into the Robert Johnson song made famous by Eric Clapton ‘Crossroads’ as soon as the first guitar solo came it was like rolling back thirty year and watching Mick in his band ‘Nutz’. It was a display of guitar brilliance second to none, ‘Rock Me Baby’, ‘Shake Your Money Maker’, a thundering version of ‘Bullfrog Blues’, all followed with an encore of ‘River Deep Mountain High’ with Harpic on vocals. I do not know how Mick felt but the Landlord was shattered from leaping about on the dance floor. The praise for Mick got higher and higher as the evening went on, as Mark Stubbs rated Mick's playing "Not Bad". Mick is away for a couple of days, but will be back to watch his beloved Liverpool F.C. on Saturday night, and who knows maybe we can get him up on stage again after this. Mick Devonport never got the fame his talents deserved, but I think he got a pretty fair swap in Elly.

Talking of football didn't The Mighty Reading do well on Sunday Night 3-1 against Tottenham Hotspurs, the pub went a bit quiet when we went one down but from then on the pub was a mass of cheering. The Reading Football Club, Supporters Club Pattaya (North and South Division) must be one of the quickest growing clubs on record. All of the Jameson's staff are now fully fledged members (In fact it is better to get a couple of drinks in before first half kick off to last you to half time, as it's a bit hard to get served whist the game is on and then there is always a bit of a rush at half time, and then of course there is celebration time after the game). Bob and Kid get a drink on Steve's bill every time Reading win, if it carries on this way Steve will not be able afford to come back for a revenge game of golf against the Bad Guys during the break.

Nice to see Bert from Tropical Bert's and what an excellent job Bert did with Remberance day, and the Poppy appeal, also a thanks to all the Jameson's customers who bought Poppies. Nice to see Midi Caldwell too. Geordies Chris and Darren, Alf, Keith, and Nigel, from ‘The Bastards’ Peter who joined us on Sunday, Andy McTighe, with Stuart, Eoin and Shelley Quirke, Simon, Nin, and Anne Quigley, Andrew Watts, Spencer, Robert the Trainer, Gethen Thomas (more Welsh). The Prince of Darkness Bob Finch, Paul Jackson enjoying the odd shot of Tequila, Ingrid the Tooth Fairy, Mr. Rock 'n' Roll Ashley, American Paul desperately is trying to get his Eric Clapton tickets. The triumphant return of Richard and Maggie Waller (Richard had had enough of the rugby by half time and left. JK might like to know that Father Dougal (of 'Father Ted' and 'My Hero') fame is doing a three night gig in Bangkok. Ken Sly arrived but decided the All Blacks game was a bit late, and a foregone conclusion.
Anybody for Golf Mike Franklin is working very hard on the JIGS Jingerben Tournament for further details please look up our golf page.
Bob (Scar) Taylor was very loving with his new baby in Jameson's on Friday night, a reformed character? Well for now. Dennis and Lek, Bob and Wit, keeping the bar propped up.
Enough from me for one week, give us a rating on this one Mr. Hagan? Did you like our palm trees?
See you at the bar, Kim
