The sun has got his hat on.

Another great week at Jameson's. As I have said a thousand times before it is not the bar but the people who make it great, and you have been in all week keeping a smile on everybody's faces. Graham, Joules, Denis and Lek, Rob, and Wit, Nick, and Ian fresh back from Phuket (although poor Thewee has come down with an eye infection), Terry Schofield from North Shore Real Estate, Roger Parry and his lovely Mum. Sam Peebles and the while Peebles family including Mum and Dad and little Daniel, The Font of All Knowledge Graham MacDonald, Simon Philbrook, missing his fiancé although sales of San Miquel do go up whilst Debbie is away the sale of our house Rose supplied by World of Wines (Buster and Richard) do go down. Linus (Stuart) is in most night clinging Font his blanket. Simon Edmonds in his slippers, Ray Matti is back from his travels fortunately bringing Curly Wurly with him, always nice to see Muffy and family.

Mark Stubbs has struggled in the face of great adversities to maintain the genius level at Nova Table all week, but without the Landlord being there to support him on all things non Rock 'n' Roll he has not had the easiest of times. One must factor into this that of course the Junior, Deputy, Assistant, Trainee Manager Ian Harrington (or as he is better known Lady Di) has of course been laying down the law this week, and although he has as ever done his sterling job, perhaps a bit of jealousy may have slipped in as Mark has now bought himself a new computer (in the good old days we used to cal them mobile phones, but these days they have so many uses that using them to make phone calls seems to be the least of their ambitions). So every time Mark gets his new phone out Lady Di nearly turns green with envy.
I must just say that I did not think much of the sport last weekend, The Irish played well to beat the English, but let's face it the English were a bit sad. Out of all our staunch Welsh supporters in the bar only Graham Watkins (Superman) stayed until the bitter end to watch the gallant Welsh go down to the French, and I will not mention the other game in case of recriminations from Ian Main or Graham MacDonald.

The other sport called football well what can I say, once again I can only quote from the National Newspapers. A Manager of a Premier league Football team who sometimes but not always play in blue hoops admitted that his football team had lost the game because they had started the game with THREE centrebacks. Steve when you only have TWO centrebacks on your playing staff playing THREE would possibly seem a mistake.
But I digress The Root of All Evil Mr. Malcolm Clare has been knocked off the top spot of the Shelley run Panthers sweep for the Six Nations Championship, I have to warn you guys that are ahead of him now, for the next couple of weeks lose on purpose as being the Evil one he tends to not find not winning displaceable, and you know what happens when the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end (the only place they have left to stand on end). Drinks seem to fly around at a copious rate.

Jimmy Howard made a welcome return to the ranks this week, bringing with him his usual bonhomie to all, Andrew Watts always a jolly fellow, making a flash visit the great Steve Fraser which as ever was a riot, Steve is such a ball of fire that he even had Ray Matti looking on agog. Lovely to get an e-mail from Tony and Iris Ritchie although sad that they will not be coming until November for their Hols still never mind the internet keeps us all in touch these days. Sorry the diary is a day late this week, but we have all been a bit under the weather with a Flu bug that is going around, and it has been difficult for Moo and I to get a day when we have both been fit. Come on John Hagan that should bring out a little bit of sympathy for this weeks rating.

The Jesters Charity Drive is now under full swing as you can see from the brochure printed on this page (anybody who wants brochures please let me know and I will get them to you as soon as possible). Our 10th Anniversary Year quite an achievement from a little meeting between Neil Sandilands, and myself to raise ten thousand baht.

Talking of Sandilands with his usual cunning planning he is arriving in Pattaya this Saturday 3rd March and was supposed to meet us all on Saturday night / Sunday morning at 1.00 a.m. Oh well the best laid plans of mice and men. I am sure it will not be the only plan of Neil's to go slightly awry on this turnaround. Rony Fineman has actually been sighted whilst flying about between Bangkok, Chang Mai and Saturn, I nearly said the moon there but everybody knows that man has never stepped foot on the moon, Mike Franklin and family, Rick (Kimchi) Bryant arrived in town to pay one of his flying visits to Pattaya sorting out his football team, a hasty kiss to the wife and delightful children, Harpic, Jake, (who Rick ruined his night by not allowing Jake to be in the right place at the right time, but then there runs the course of true love Jake, there is always some other getting in the way). Paige and the delightful Abby. Nice talking to Lisa Lurve on the phone. All the Payne's have been in Jason, Nui, and Leo. Did I mention Roger Parry? Stuart Young, Graham and Ian gave the new Steak and Mushroom Pie Wednesday Special two thumbs up even though Ian had talked to much (as usual) and was to late in ordering, so had to sit and watch whilst Graham tucked in. I think that Ian has pre-ordered for next week through Thewee. Sid Silk had many great ideas of how to get better from this flu bug, none of them that are printable on this page. Ian Harrington (Lady Di) is fulfilling his duties as Deputy Assistant Junior Trainee Manager (I am going to have to give him a shorter title as I am sure you are as bored reading it as I am writing it). As he will be supervising a booster system to increase our computer signal in the bar on Saturday, as there did seem to be some area's of the bar where it was not as effective as others. So after Saturday all of you computer buffs will be able to bring your laptops in and hammer away.
Talking of computers next week before the rugby we will be putting quiz questions from the Font of All Knowledge on each table, answer all 3 questions and your answer form will go into a hat and be pulled out in between the Scotland vs. Ireland game and the Italy vs. Wales game if you get the questions right you and three friends will get four free drinks (the same sort of drink you have in front of you). Suspicion will be cast upon those who are seen trying to Google the answers. We now have a completely new main menu, of course all the old favorites have been kept, but there are many tasty new editions, please look up our menu pages for a complete run down.
Always great to see Colin Duggan in the bar even though he was slightly sun burnt. Simon Edmonds looked quite content in the corner with his slippers on. Joe Grunwell left in disgust due to the rugby, but is looking forward to a successful, season with James Grunwell his son at the wheel of the BMW Race car sponsored by Pizza Company. Andy McTighe gets back from his travels on Monday and he will be welcomed back to Nova Table with open arms.

grilled tomatoes and peas, all for 175 Baht.

THURSDAY: Kebab night with two long skewers holding a selection of chunks of beef, chicken, pork, kidneys, bacon, and liver, with green peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms and pineapple. Served with fried rice on a large wooden chopping board, all for 175 Baht.

FRIDAY: Fish and Chips with deep fried fillets of fish cooked in a beer batter, served with a mound of French fries and a heap of salad, all for 165 Baht.

JAMESON’S SPECIALS are served with a choice of two starters and two desserts (Except for the huge Kebabs on Thursday, as you are not likely to want anything else after you have cleared both skewers). All Specials are served from 12 noon to 11 pm and the same
