This weekend looks like being a complete corker. Starting off with Friday night 3rd November, we have the first of our Fashion Shows organized by Dave and Sylvia, this week with help from Thailand's most famous hairdresser Johnnie Live. Starting at 7 o'clock there will be a demonstration of hair cutting, hair styling, nail styling, make up, etc which will make a change from the usual Friday night revelry. But fear not for those revelers amongst you, there is plenty of fun organized for later on Friday night with Ray Matti's fiancé Khirsly (Curly Wurly's) Birthday Party, Khirsly will be 21 again. The floor will of already been cleared for our Fashion Show so there will be plenty of room for dancing, and frivolity. As soon as the Fashion Show finishes, enjoying with the disco for all night long. There will of course be all the fun and japes that go with a young girl’s birthday party, but where would be the surprise if I told you all about them now? There will of course be free bar snacks being dispensed throughout the evening, and at the start of Khirsly's Birthday Vodka Jelly's will be floating round the bar giving off their usual magic. This is a night not to be missed for all of you that are Fashion conscious and for those of you that just like to have a good time.

If that is not enough for you then on Saturday 4th September after a few quiet ones during the day, we have the first of the Northern hemisphere touring games from the Southern hemisphere Rugby Union Nations. With the programmed advertised at starting at 9.15 Wales will take on Australia this game will be played on most of the Jameson's screen with soundtrack. There will be several Welsh men on hand to lend support to their side including Mike Watkins the famous ex Welsh Rugby Union hooker, and Graham Watkins equally as famous although he never actually captained Wales. Also that night there is a full football schedule which will be shown at the same time with all the games catered for. Simon Philbrook will have his allegiances sorely tested as Simon is the President of Vice of the Reading Football Club Supporters Society, Pattaya (North and South Division). Simon having been also a life long supporter of Liverpool and also a member of the Bad Guys Rugby Team that gave the Good Guys of Reading a sound thrashing on the golf course. He may have a little difficulty deciding who to support, but we shall let his own conscience rule him. The rest of the Reading Football Club Supporters Society (North and South Division) have had a bit of a rough ride lately with a few unexplained defeats being broadcast across the world, but all twelve of us remain committed.(Although if results continue along these lines we may all well be committed)

Sunday 5th November is Loy Kratong Day, unless it rains like it did a few weeks away, Jameson's will not have river running past it to float your Kratongs, but there are plenty of venues around the area where you can. Never the less as both Loy Kratong and Sunday are considered Family Days no effort has been spared to make sure everybody has a good day. It being the First Sunday of the month we will be putting on our usual Acoustic Music afternoon with Pop and the all Stars, you can expect three sets of music from Pop starting at 3 o' clock with Magic Shows at 4 o'clock and 5 o'clock by Dr. Magic of PR Magic. The lovely Lola will again transform the library area into the children's grotto for the afternoon with lots of toys, and balloons for the children to play with, a coloring competition, cartoons on the television screen and a free buffet for all the children including Ice Cream, Coca Cola and Sprite. This is as well as our usual policy of children eating free, from the Carvery if the parents eat from the Carvery. Added to that the super duper Happy Hour from 12 noon till 4 o'clock of Heineken and Tiger at 80 baht a pint. What more can you want for a great afternoon? More, well then at 9.15 p.m. there is the Rugby Union game between England and New Zealand, I would imagine this would be the perfect way for a New Zealander to finish the weekend off.
The past week has been a glorious adventure for Jameson's and Nova Table, the return from their Lomantic holiday of Curly Wurly and her fiancé Ray Matti, the sad departure of Australian Mick, Moe, and the wonderful Kevin who returned to collect his picture of Andrew Strauss's magnificent catch in last year's Ashes only to decide it was too big to go in his hand luggage (he brought a tape measure and everything to make sure) so donated it to hang on the pub wall for a year. But as many weeks bring sad departures they also of course also bring arrivals. First and foremost one of Australia's most famous Rugby Touring Teams the 'Unquenchables' the boys arrived led by the tireless Dennis, saw, drank, conquered and left, no doubt we will see more of them as they are already booked in for another dinner here during the week and are dead certs to be in front of the telly for the Wales vs. Australia game on Saturday night.

Last Saturday the valiant Jameson's Golf Team comprised of Captain Simon Philbrook, Rich Wibrow, Jason Payne, and Terry Schofield of North Shore Real Estate. Playing at Eastern Star the boys played out of their skins to come in as Runners Up in a Four Man Scramble format with no handicaps counting. The trophy is now proudly displayed in Jameson's between Terry and Andy's Cup and Lemon's Duck. Many tales of heroic goings on were told during the course of the night. Apart from Graham Macdonald hitting Simon with his handbag when Liverpool thrashed Graham (The Font of All Knowledge's) favorite team, I think Simon had a near perfect day. John Hagan has arrived back for one of his trips back always brings a rose to the bar that man. John has kindly said that the website that we do at Jameson's is very good, but now wishes to become the Web Judge giving the website a rating each week, so this should become a weekly event, should you disagree with John's assessment please feel free to send in a postcard with your own opinion.

The Unquenchables
Many welcome guests around Nova Table this week of course the always smiling (for what reason we are not sure) Junior, Assistant, Trainee, Deputy, 'Novice' Lady Di with his side kick Mark Stubbs, who will actually be neglecting his duties this week as he has family in town I do hope Ian will be able to cope on his own! The Quirke's Eoin and Shelley are always a delight to have walking through the door as is Graham (‘Superman’) Watkins so called as he has a habit of walking into Jameson's going straight to the toilet and coming out a changed man. Simon Quigley has come to the end of his career, sorry let me re-read that Simon Quigley has come to the end of his time in Korea, and returned to Thailand with Mrs. Quigley Nin. Also coming with Simon for ten weeks is the lovely Ann Quigley who joined us at Nova Table for a super Sunday. We certainly better stock up on campari, and the ingredients to B52's. Ken Sly was in fine form on Saturday night as he strode through the doors, not making any schoolboy errors by drinking pints. Sid Silk brought in a bottle of Raspberry flavored Vodka which he said slipped down the throat like the devil in a velvet glove, we shall find this out on Friday night at Curly's Birthday. Bellringers Peter and the beautiful Bo have returned for another extended vacation so expect lots of extra fireworks and action at Nova Table, plus of course all the shoe shops in Pattaya must be stacking up. Johnnie Live and his friend Norris had a Pool marathon in here on Sunday night. As John and Kim had a Sports Quiz night (which John Hagan had been trapped in the night before). The Landlord got John with a question on soccer (most unusual) but he cannot take all the credit for this as he was given the question by Phil Flanagan. The question that got John was this................
Which First Division Football Team (That's the old First Division when it was what is now the Premiership). Fielded a side with Seven, at the time past, present, or future England Captains in it? And who were they?
This is not a trick question in anyway. If anyone knows the answer please send me an e-mail, this is initially for fun and does not effect The Font of All Knowledge's Quiz.
Nice to hear this week from David Foden (Happy 50th Mate), Lisa Lurve, Dai Coe, Iris Ritchie (arriving on the 20th), Alistair Cummings, and Ian Dickson (The Aussies won again).
13th TQ Master Golf Tournament

Loitering around Nova Table were Ernie Bakke (Dream Dreamer), Bob Finch, the proud Dad Bob (Scar) Taylor, Simon and his beautiful fiancé Deborah, Rony Fineman of course, the ever quick off the mark Alex and Nit Woods with Kay, Stuart, Moo, Sophie, and Jamie, Graham, Geordies Chris and Darren, Bob and Wit, Dennis in his very colorful shirts. Sunday sees the arrival back of Richard and Maggie, which is especially wonderful as it gives The Landlord someone to moan to about why he was not selected for the upcoming Ashes Tour. Big Dave Hoyle came down for a couple of days from Jools land and although he has managed to squeeze off 17 stone he is still most definitely BIG DAVE. If somebody sees Phil Flanagan or the Cyclops please ask them to get in touch with The Landlord or Moo abut their lodging arrangements for Christmas. It is already worth noting that Christmas bookings are already flooding into Jameson's. With only a few tables left during the daytime, although Christmas night is not too bad at the moment, the full Christmas menu will be up on the website next week. All Paul's are due back this week, you have been warned. The Root of all Evil maybe away for a while but he will return, and there are plenty trying to step into his shoes whilst he is away. None will of course once the man who the devil worships returns but it does not stop them trying. A sorry to Harry Price who asked me to book him in to the Nova Park in December, but I'm afraid Harry it is completely full. Matt the Wig, Sean, Golf and Jack always are full of comment around Nova. Jeff Paladeau, Jimmy and Jenny Howard are still in Canada regards from Nova Table to all the Howard's. Jon Fox of Q Cars fame never changes Thank goodness and brightens up last Saturday night, as did Judi McNamara (the Bar of Soap).
Jameson’s Rugby Tour in Jools Matt the Punk, Kevin, Nigel, President James Howard (at the back), Mike Watkins, & Tour Manager
The Pattaya Charity Club will be holding their Christmas party on Saturday 9th December at Jameson's at around 11o'clock in the morning Santa will be coming and some of you may think he looks like Kevin Fisher, but of course it is not Kevin but Santa himself. A good time should be had by all with a special guest piano player. The Christmas Party is of course being organized by Malcolm and Christina Bowden. The Franklin's of course are rushing around quicker and quicker as Christmas draws ever closer, lost up our golf page for details of the up coming JIGS Jingerben Tournament. Good luck to Neil Sandilands in the Artic circle is least the beer will be guaranteed to be cold. A big Thank you to Peter Woolston and Debbie Lightley for the photos for the diary this week. And to PJ for keeping the bar propped up. We all look forward to Crouchy and Zorba's Seventieth Birthday in February (Crouchy will be thirty and Zorba forty). A special congratulations to one of the world's finest lock forwards on his operation I hope your recovery is complete and swift.

Halloween night certainly screamed along on Tuesday night maybe it was the thought of Dave Hoyle coming down the following day or all the shoe shops being cleared out by Bo. Peter and Bo had a table to their own little party and our favorite waitress Bam nearly wore out her own shoes running backwards and forwards with glasses of Tequila. Ray Matti is scary enough on the best of days, and Halloween makes him doubly so. John (Queenie) is a sweetheart really he just hides it very well, and thought the Prince of all darkness Bob Finch looked better with his make up on than off. Our three witches Debbie, Goy, and Curly Wurly were a sheer delight. Stuart, Moo and family came in for dinner, having refused to pay key money, good for them I say. Henry proved himself to be a very nice man. John Hagan kept everybody on their toes in the conversation. Whilst Johnnie Live was bouncing about in expectation for his new hairdressing saloon, more of the details of this once I have calmed him down to get them myself. Bob and Wit were in with Dennis and Lek, whilst Geordie Chris and his lovely wife Jenny giggled away between them selves. Nice to see Norwegian Terry, and I think Goy might not be drinking B52's for a little while.
Nice to see Jim back and straight back in the swing of things. Regards from everybody at Nova to Bjorn in Norway. Enough from me, Have a good week everybody, See you at the bar, Kim.
