Is there a Rugby World Cup on? Well we are now down to the Nitty Gritty
end of the Rugby World Cup.
The big one this weekend has to be The
Australia vs. England game, not only because of traditional
rivalry, but I'm afraid to admit it but timing. The 2
o’clock in the morning game no matter how tempting
will I am sure thin in down to the hard core. Graham
Macdonald (The Font of All Knowledge) will surely be
there, as will probably the Philbrooks,
and many others but whether they are staying for the extra few drinks
or for the rugby is another matter. Of course rugby is not the only
sports on the telly this weekend, a quick look at our schedule will
tell you that, and we can always find room on one of our televisions
for your favourite sport. It was delightful to have The
Root of All Evil back this weekend, and we also welcome
back this week, Dag, Andy McTighe and
Neil Sandilands. Johny Live is still leaping about like
a Jack in a Box. Whilst
Ian Harrington brought
in an array of guitars for us musicians in the bar to play with. Simon
Quigley did a wonderful job as one half of the clown
partnership last Saturday,
whilst Rick and Harpic Bryant gave
us but two songs both of which were brilliant.
"The Man Who Sold The World" the David Bowie Classic,
as well as "The Wizard" from
Uriah Heep.
Ireland and Wales fall by the wayside. |

Please note that the
Tuesday and Thursday Specials are now rolling specials
to give even more variety to the Jameson's
menu. If any of you particularly like one special please let us know
and we will put it on more often. Special regards to Tony
and Iris Ritchie, and it is nice to have Stuart
in town for a week. I wonder what tales will have to tell you about
The Root of All Evil,
next week? Debbie Lightley and Malcolm
Clare have leapt to the top of the Shelley
Rugby World Cup Competition,
whilst the Landlord has
managed to slump from first to second to last, (second to last only
because Gethen Thomas
could not get his results in for one whole section due to the fact that
he was in the deepest darkest valley's of Wales).
Pity there are not more supporters for Fiji
for Sunday's game, but most of the Fijians
are playing it is such a small country. |
