Chris Kay's Rugby Pattaya Tens Ever
This year's
Chris Kays Rugby Tens held at Horseshoe
Point last weekend were the best ever. All the games
were played with great skill, in the right spirit with many new
friendships being formed. Jim Howard did a fantastic
job as the main organizer, Graham MacDonald as
event co-coordinator was calmness itself, Eoin Quirke
did a marvelous job both captaining the Pattaya Panthers
and organizing the event Mark Coombes
did a wonderful job of logistics, Ron Keeley, Tony Malhotra
of the Pattaya Mail and Mark did a great job on the programs,
all the teams were well managed. Blowfly worked
his magicians magic to keep all the scores in order, Russell
kept the music blaring Raimonland's sponsorship,
along with Four Winds and MBMG's were Thankfully
received, Mark Coombes also manned the scoreboard,
a thankless task, The Referees were marshalled
by Dave Vicars with his usual aplomb, Neil
Smith kept an accurate and hilarious commentary going
for a full two days, Mickey Price did a great
job with the shirts, The Four Winds tent run
by Paul Wilkinson seemed to be exceedingly popular.
Ko, Jake and everybody from Horseshoe
Point were just great good hamburgers and cold beer.
A special Thank you to Heineken who sold a lot
of those energy drinks that come in small green cans. A wonderful
tournament. It was great to see old friends Eddie Evans,
Mike and Meow Watkins, the Boys from Bognor especially
nice to see Ray and Lynn Kays. Phil Dunn
was a ball of energy all weekend. Paul Crouch
won the Chris Kays player of the tournament awarded
by Ray Kays with I am sure full approval of Chris
Kays. Crouchy on the Sunday
participated in nine games for five different teams quite an achievement
in that heat, it was lovely to see all the Crouch's
looking so happy and healthy at the Tens. There
are plenty more details if you want to read more please look up
our Pattaya Panthers internal link on the left
hand side of this page, or look up the main anthers website, or
go to the Pattaya Mail sports section at www.pattayamail.com

will be doing their popular annual bookstall at the fair, so
if any of you are hoarding unwanted books at home, please bring
them into Jameson's so we can sell them at the fair, it is a
fantastic way of making money, you give us the books, people
buy them, and we give the money to the Charity Drive) joins

There will be some acoustic sets of music from Pop
and a whole bunch of Pattaya All Stars, two
shows by a pair of magicians, a free kids buffet in the library

all the different games between each different screens. The
Reading Football Club, Supporters Society, Divisions North,
South, East and West will all be out in force to cheer
Steve's Boys on. It's out of Steve's
hands now, but he has got to win to stand a chance. We will
be keeping everything crossed for you Good Guy. So that is quite
a bit of entertainment for you. Looking further into the future,

think we will leave the library area Red for the Cardiff
Team.

tactics especially those concerning sledging, and the taking

opening at 10.00 a.m. is the Jesters
Fair at Diana Driving Range and Resort, followed by
the Jesters Party Night at Jameson's on Saturday 20th
September, which along with all it's musical acts,
magic shows, raffles, stories etc, will have the climax of the
auction which is taking on mighty proportions now, with new
items being added to the site each week. Click onto the link
at the side of the page and see what we have up for auction,
the bidding process is very simple.
As well as all our guests from overseas and all over Pattaya,
this week due to the Tens it is always nice
to see friends around Nova Table Terry Schofield of
No Fixed Abode, George, Ian (Lady Di) Harrington, Sledge
(sometimes known as Brain Abbott), Sam
Peebles, The Jameson's Youth Policy, Paul, Steve, and Ray, New
Motorbike Shaun, Johny Live, The Roving Ambassador Mark Stubbs,
Jason Payne, Ron Keeley, Big John, John Hagan, Sid and Sue Silk,

Dennis, Rob and Wit, Geordies all including Big
Dave, Darren, Chris etc, (Hello to MottMan)
Graham Macdonald, Jimmy and Jennie Howard,
the lovable and confused Dobsy. Rick and Harpic Bryant,
Judi McNamara and all.
Sadly I have to finish by telling you that Ron Amero
after a long and brave fight against cancer passed away last
week. 'A Legend has left the building'. Ron
has moved on now, but for us he will be always remembered as
one of the nicest, strongest, funniest, most generous people
that we have had the privilege to meet. The stories about Ron's
daring do will resound around the world for ever. It was a pleasure
knowing him, and someone that none of us will ever forget. Bless
you Ron.
Great to see Steve Graham in the bar with his
entourage, Captain Steve Ponter always brimful
of ideas for the Jesters Care4Kids Charity Drive 2008.
The complete set of Bob the Builder in the
form of Stuart, Moo, Sophie, and James Young,
for details of all Stuarts skills please take
a look at our events and promotions page. Great to see Simon
Edmonds (out of his carpet slippers) and Dirty
Doug Rattaray, even though we did run out of absolute
vodka and cranberry juice several times, good to see Matt
Miller and Mark Gorda supporting the Chris
Kays Rugby Tens. A good way of starting the day is
my morning on line chats to Muffy Kerr. My
Jimmy put in an appearance at the rugby, Stephen
Leather for the seventh year running came down to the
Pattaya Tens, made it to Pattaya,
made it to Jameson's but the actual trip out
to Horseshoe Point just proved a bridge too
far. Kevin Fisher as always is charming and
fun, and at the Tens stayed firmly in the hands
of Paul Wilkinson in the Four Winds
tent. Terry from Norway gets in when he can
between building the biggest Rock 'n' Roll collection on a hard
drive on the planet, a never ending task, as Big Dave,
and I keep on giving him more and more music.
Great to
see what is left of Big Dave (a tad unreasonable
to call him that now) Dave has so far managed
to lose 70 kilos. down for a couple of days to deliver some
new music to Kim, Dave arriving
brought out Dave and Jan, the arrival back
of the Roving Ambassador Mark Stubbs. For all
you girls proud of your husbands or boyfriends please look up
item number 0023 on the Jesters Care4Kids Charity Drive

present, or just simply a present to keep them happy. Sid
Silk is off on one of his trips again, but will return
shortly, no doubt with more books.

There will be a 100 baht surcharge for everybody
who wishes to watch the game in Jameson's which
will be donated to the Jesters Care4Kids Charity Drive

as before either of these two games kick off Wanchai
our brilliant Manager will be putting
up two more 42" inch plasma screens, plus a 32" behind
the bar to add to our existing screens, plus of course the giant

My old mucker Tim Rawlinson (The Landlord
of Jameson's in Bangkok) is still
steaming ahead at Jameson's in Bangkok quickly
turning it into the most successful pub in Bangkok,
trouble is now it is difficult for Tim and the Fat Landlord
in Pattaya to get a beer together. Always nice to see
KC of Town and Country milling about in the
pool room. Mike Franklin is out of hospital
and zimming around on his frame with his new knee, Kim.
The man who cannot find a rugby field
