The music on Indian Summer
comes from a soundtrack that Mick Ronson
was involved with in the early Eighties.
Who cares what became of the film? The
music that Mick Ronson left behind is
nothing short of superb. Without doubt,
Mick Ronson is one of the most underrated
musicians ever to have come from the British
Isles.
The music must have laid hidden for almost
20 years before it was found. The quality
and dexterity of it all even confounded
that all round good bloke, Mott the Hoople
expert, Campbell Devine.
One wonders if Mick Ronson had had better
management and proper financing how big
a star would he have become. Alternatively,
how high would Bowie have reached had
it not been for the Spider from Hull.
Even with the terrible Bonus Disc, which
includes a very amateur film screen test,
this it’s still a 5 star.
